Hershey's ® 'Perfectly Chocolate' Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2008
This is the recipe from the Hershey's cocoa box and I have used it for years. Its the best chocolate cake recipe I have ever made. Note to those whose cake turned out drier... I'm not a chef but when I try to hurry like today and not pull out the mixer and just do it by hand wisking or with a spoon, it does turn out a little drier. If you follow the recipe exactly and use the Hershey's cocoa it turns out so moist you don't even need the frosting. I like using cream cheese frosting flavored with mint instead of vanilla and serve with mint chocolate chip icecream. YUM.

Delicious Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2007
These cookies WERE awesome. I used several suggestions and swapped out 1/4 of the shortening with butter and added peanut butter chips and heath toffee bits. I refrigerated overnight and baked for 16min in a convection oven at 325. I used a scoop and did not flatten the cookie. It did spread out perfectly by itself. Everyone loved them more than tollhouse chocolate chip cookies I made. I noticed this recipe is the same as the Jif recipe exactly except the Jiff uses butter crisco. I will be making these cookies again and again. NOTE if the dough is not cold it will be a thinner more spread out cookie.

Italian Meatball Sandwich Casserole

Reviewed: May 20, 2000
This recipe has a wonderful flavor. I was quite surprised. If you can't fit all the bread in the dish, don't worry, just add a little garlic powder to the leftover spread and put it on the extra slices of bread. Sprinkle with shredded parmesian cheese ( or cheese of choice ) and bake during the last 10-15 minutes of the casserole. It is delicious.

Oh my God! How simple! And yet so gooood! (and cheap too). I doubled the recipe except the beef and it was still very tasty. Thanks for this one :)

Bourbon Chicken

Reviewed: May 20, 2000
I believe I have already reviewed this recipe however wanted to add a few things. We love this recipe. If you want it to taste more like the mall recipes use skinless, boneless theighs instead of breast. Breast will turn out dry. Also add low salt soy sauce. I always use southern comfort (to taste) and grand marneir (if thats how you spell it). An off brand orange liquor will work as well or maybe some grated orange peel in the marinade. However if you add another liquor to the mix you will want to cut back on the other. I just use the small single shots bottles on the counter in the liquor store. Southern comfort is sweet and adds to the recipe intead of traditional buorbon. I also stir-fry my chicken theighs.

Cheddar Biscuits

I make this recipe alot for the kids. They love to snack on them after dinner too. I have added a little onion powder in mine. These are just like the ones you get at a famous restaurant chain.

This pie is almost like "grandma used to make". It was a nice firm pie that my husband and kids loved.

Chocolate Cream Pie II

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2000
This recipe took quite awhile to prepare as the time it took to come to a boil was about 30 minutes. This is 30 min. of constant stirring. The pie was not as firm as I like and it was a little too bitter. I may try it again with less cocoa in it. The kids didn't care for it much.

Ham and Cheese Omelet Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2000
This was a quick recipe to prepare. It was delicious. If you like quiche, you'll like this. I added green peppers to mine because I had some already in the refrigerator. I plan to try this again and experiment with some more ingredients. I made mine for a dinner meal.
