Crunchy Romaine Toss

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2011
Oh geeze, how could anyone not love anything with fried ramen noodles? This was fantastic, along with the dressing...I found it refreshing that it wasn't cabbage...that I love, don't get me wrong, but I love romaine too, and it was great! Thanks for sharing. By the way, it's versatile as well...! Yea! Oh, one more thing, I changed the recipe by adding sesame oil, which I adore. In addition to the regular oil...it added depth, which I felt it needed.

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
Well, these are pretty fantastic. I used my kitchen aid bread dough hook, worked perfectly. I even put another 1/4 cup butter in the dough, but it still tasted great! Glazed em with orange glaze. My 16 year old ate three and thought I was a god. Only was to talk him into getting started on his homework early today! Thanks for sharing!

Best Ziti Ever

Reviewed: May 29, 2008
Rating again....GREAT! Family still loves it, and made it for the masses...awesome! Thanks again for a fab recipe! Yum!!!!!!!! I fed numerous neighbor kids...the family, and a couple of other neighbors that stopped by for a glass of wine...wow. I did add a whole chopped onion, some mushrooms, and some garlic (about 3 cloves)...this IS the recipe...I used cottage cheese instead of ricotta and will do so next time too! I'm making that when the in-laws come next week...thanks SO much!!!!!

Fresh Pineapple Upside Down Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2008
My cake came out undone in the center as well...I made this EXACTLY like the recipe. I'm making two for a party, so I baked the first one JUST to see...so I'll make a second one and follow another reviewer's suggestion of more brown suger, less pineapple juice...and baked longer...then we'll see if it works. Looks beautiful and I'm SURE it'll get eaten! Once I've tasted and baked the other, I'll review again!

Prize Winning Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2008
I followed the cooking directions and used a rub here in Austin (Rudy's). Cooking directions on ribs are the key to good ribs...these were incredibly moist and tender...the guys devoured them. I don't like meat (and they always tease me when I eat it)...Well, we wiped out two huge racks, the teens, the hub, me and the teens friend. Good stuff..made it on the Weber..with smoke chips. Awesome!

Easy Quiche

Pretty easy and really good! Will make this again for sure. I like the fact that you can throw anything in there that you like, veggies, meats...and it will still turn out great! I made it for my in-laws and they loved! Thank you!

Chicken Souvlaki Gyro Style

Fantastic! We have a Greek restaurant around the corner from us and the kids LOVE the gyro wraps there. This is pretty darn close (except for the pita bread...just can't find the amazing pita bread that they get). Thanks for sharing! Wonderful!

Mushroom Orzo

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2007
Really good, except it needed WAY more liquid than called for. It could be because I used whole wheat orzo...which has a really nice bite. I would do this again...but watch the salt content. When using beef broth, it can get a little salty!

Awesome Roast Beef

My family would have to give this 5 stars. It got best dinner of the week award. I did add an envelope of onion soup and some extra beef broth (we're gravy folks)and a package of steak cut mushrooms. But wow, with no effort, it was a yummy Sunday dinner on Wednesday night! Will definitely make again. Thanks!

Banana Crumb Muffins

These were pretty good, but I'm not a good muffin maker ever...I always fill the darn cups up too much. No exception here...Anyway, they are really really moist and heavy...I kind of like lighter muffins...but good flavor!!!

Well, I have to agree...all I had in the fridge were these ingredients...I used American cheese, but it was great and huge! I made one each for my crew (all 6 footers!). I could only eat half...the ate the whole thing! Thanks! Will make again!

Penne with Chicken and Pesto

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2006
OK, well I have made this at least a million times by now and you just can't goof it up! It is by far, my teens favorite dish. Also, if ya'll are feeling adventurous, one day I had taken out some shrimp and cooked that in the garlic, removed it, cooked the chicken, added the shrimp and WOW! Adds a whole new dimension. We are lucky enough here to have pre-cooked marinated frozen chicken here at one of our grocery stores, so this dinner takes me about 15 minutes. We have it at least once a week! Oh yum!!! Add fresh grated romano cheese...can't get any better!

Baked Penne with Italian Sausage

Yum! After reading all of the reviews, I did add garlic and some spices. We also get special italian sausage from a little bitty meat shop in Port Arthur, Tx. It's called Nicks...best italian sausage I've ever had. It made the dish...everyone pigged out! Thanks for sharing!

Angel Hair Pasta with Garlic Shrimp and Broccoli

Wow. Fantastic. The only thing I changed was penne from angel hair. I like the way the sauce collects in the penne pasta. My family LOVED this and my 16 year old ate two helpings as did my husband, who always just eats one helping of anything! Thanks for sharing...regular rotation...you bet!

Smoked Salmon Sushi Roll

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2005
Wow! I've always been afraid to try making California rolls because it looked so difficult...my family loves them SO much, in self defense, I found your recipe. It's authentic, and absolutely perfect and a piece of cake to make. I subbed crab instead of salmon, but will try salmon too! At our local HEB it's expensive to buy, but now, I can make my own @ less than half the price and they taste better! Fresher! Thanks for sharing! My only comment is this...when making the rolls, dip your fingers in water to spread out the rice on the nori...also, dip your very sharp knife in water too...helps to cut the seaweed very cleanly!
