Applesauce Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2011
I baked in an 8x8 pan, and added 1/2 cup walnuts and 1/2 cup raisins. I chose to skip the icing in this recipe and topped it with cream-cheese frosting instead. With my changes, I wouldn't call these bars -- it was a cake. But it was a DELICIOUS cake!

Laura's Quick Slow Cooker Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2010
This was darn good! I also used a can of tomatos in place of one of the cans of soup. My husband doesn't like "chunky," so I put the tomato and onion in the food processor to make it smooth. I used one can kidney beans, one can cannellini beans, and one can black beans - very festive! I added the spices as written (minus the allspice). It was just a tiny bit spicy. Next time, I will increase the chili powder and red pepper, to give it some kick. We both loved this, and my husband even had leftovers for breakfast (blech). This recipe is going into our monthly meal rotation!

Oven Baked BBQ Ribs

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2010
Following the advice of other reviews, I cut the salt to 1 tsp. I baked the ribs, covered, for the first two hours. Then uncovered them and basted for the last hour. They were fantastic. I'm not even a huge fan of ribs, but these were great!

Paul's Southern California BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: May 9, 2010
This was certainly tasty, but after it cooked down, I was left with less than a cup of sauce, which is certainly not 12 servings. So some of us got to enjoy this sauce, and the rest of our guests were stuck with bottled.

Erica's Delicious Slow Cooker Beef Roast

Reviewed: May 2, 2010
I used cream of celery soup (it's what I had on hand) and omitted the parsley because we didn't have any. Still, this recipe was a winner. The meat just fell apart, and the gravy was delicious.

Red Cabbage and Apples

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2010
This was great! I cooked it for more like 20 minutes, so it wasn't complete mush. I also used cider vinegar and brown sugar, and only ended up needing 2 Tbsp of each to achieve the taste I wanted.

Root beer? Really? Yes. Trust the reviews. This was absolutely delicious.

Cheese Dip with Beer

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2010
This was delicious, but a little too salty for my tastes. The cheeses I used probably had enough salt. Next time I will use garlic powder (or real garlic) and taste before adding any salt. We ate every bit anyway. Definately a party hit!

Slow Cooker Ham

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2010
This is my go-to ham recipe. I have a smaller crockpot, so I use a 2-3 lb half ham, and less sugar. But it's so easy - we have ham every weekend now!

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
This is the easiest cookie recipe I've ever used. And SO good! I used only 1 1/4 cups sugar in the recipe, then used the remaining 1/4 cup to roll the cookies before baking. And today, I rolled them in colored sugar for xmas. So cute!

I completely forgot about the wine, and it was still delicious.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2008
These turned out just as described. I did add 1/2 tsp cream of tartar, so they looked really nice, too. They're way too sweet for me, though. All that sugar left me with a weird taste in my mouth. I'll probably try this again, but cut the sugar.

Sandy's Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
This cake is beautiful and easy. I'm not sure I like the semisweet chocolate in the icing, but that's just an opinion. It does go nicely with the not-to-sweet cake. Thanks for the recipe!

'I Hate Cucumbers!' Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2007
This was okay. My mother used to make a similar recipe using sour cream instead of mayo. I think I'll try subbing that next time.

Chocolate Walnut Fudge

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2007
The texture was okay, but I all I could taste was chocolate chips. Not that chocolate chips are bad, but I would like a more complex flavor. Maybe next time I'll add some peanut butter.
