Coconut Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2012
I tried this and doubled the vanilla and added about 3/4 cup of almond slices and a teaspoon (more or less) cinnamon. After pouring the batter into the two prepared pans, I added some more almond slices, coconut and cinnamon to the tops, as well as a sprinkle of turbinado sugar. It was absolutely *divine* Thank you so much for sharing your recipe -- it's been permanently penned into my handwritten recipe collection!

Hamburger Stroganoff

So VERY good! I used beef broth instead of consume -- so I had to cook it down a little longer. The lemon was an incredible addition!

French Toast Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2012
I really enjoyed this and so did my husband. At first, I was extremely disappointed by the consistency in the middle (and this was after cooking for an hour and fifteen minutes) -- but then I decided to go ahead and taste it -- and it was wonderful! Next time I make it I will add less milk though and I'll be better prepared for the time it takes to cook thoroughly.

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Simple and so very, very good! This is the same recipe my mother first taught me and everyone enjoys it. I made this with raspberries, strawberries, blackberries and blueberries and my husband loved it!

Very good recipe and very easy. Mine would have been so much better if I'd remembered to turn them over halfway through! Other than that, they were delicious!

Chef John's Cottage Fries

I played around with the spices somewhat to go with what I enjoyed, but otherwise stuck to the directions. They came out *delicious* and went along great with steak!

Blueberry Loaf Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2012
This is SO GOOD! I did make a few changes though: I used 1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla, 1/2 teaspoon almond extract, 1/2 teaspoon of coconut extract, 1 1/2 cups of blueberries and 3/4 cup of sweetened coconut. I sprinkled cinnamon and turbinado sugar on top. I had to bake it for about 65 mins and covered the top with foil at about 50 - 55 mins. I did find the mixture very thick when I poured it into my baking dish, however my loaf was extremely soft and very, very delicious!

Sy's Challah

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2012
This was my first ever attempt at making anything with yeast -- and it was so easy! I grew up with my mother making challah bread and I've been craving it fresh from the oven for years! Thank you so much for providing this recipe!

I absolutely loved it. I didn't have sherry and used white wine and it was still perfect.
