I am a mother of two (boy & girl) that works and goes to college part time. I enjoy cooking because it is something that my mother and I used to do when I was a child and I plan to continue that tradition on with my kids too.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking healthy colorful meals as well as beautiful tasty deserts! I especially like cooking for the holidays and save special dishes just for those occasions.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving has always been a big “to do” in my family. My mother would always make appetizers and snacks to feast one while the main course cooks. After she bought a restaurant I took over making the thanksgiving dinner and I enjoy making everything that she use to as well as slipping in a few new dishes each year for a change.
My cooking triumphs
I think one of the most liked appetizers that I make is my stuffed mushrooms. I hold off every year and make them only in the fall. As soon as the leaves start to change I have people calling me and asking when I am going to be making them! I stuff them with homemade sausage stuffing, cheese and bacon!
My cooking tragedies
My first thanksgiving cooking with a gas oven took longer than I had expected. So after the turkey was finally done I had to use the juice to make my gravy. Everything was in the pot and I started to add a bit of flour to it. I tasted it and I knew something was not right! I used confectionary sugar instead! Lol

Peanut Butter Playdough
My children and I made this tonight! We thought it would be a fun project and snack too! I found that I had to use a lot more powered milk than was called for because it was very sticky! We made enough for 5 servings, which was enough for twp children to have a lot to play with (too much to eat). After they were done making shapes we cut up pieces of bananas and wrapped the dough around it …. Talk about tasty!
