You can probably tell by my "interests" that I'm in the Senior category of life. I've spent my life as a mother, special ed. teacher (now retired), and am devoted to four grandchildren and 17 stepgrandchildren. I love to cook yummy things--when there's someone around to eat them! Looking forward to time for experimenting and planning new things to entice and satisfy!
My favorite things to cook
Have to admit--I love baked goodies. Also been making various chocolates for years--specialty in cherry chocolates. Once you've had homemade (with cream fondant), you'll disdain anything else.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sunday family dinner. Grilling chicken breast marinated in lite soy sauce and, yes, FRESCA (original recipe uses 7-Up, but we don't have it on hand). And, Mom's (me) from-scratch lemon meringue pie.
My cooking triumphs
My special recipe lemon meringue pie with out-of-this-world (but easy) crust. Also hand-dipped cherry chocolates. Easier than you'd think. Family loves my zucchini goulash; so healthy and delicious, but easy to overdo (get tired of) when it's the fallback too often.
My cooking tragedies
Have to think about that. Probably tough roast or steak. Boo (hoo).
