Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: May 30, 2013
This bread is very nice, not very sweet (it almost could use some additional sweetener]. We made 2 loafs. One as written, one with splenda and another sugar free product. They both raised very nicely. The sugar free was a little more rustic in appearance. Yes I would use this recipe again.

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2012
We had a wedding for friends of ours this past weekend at our home. For dinner I served Hawian chicken (I must submit it-I'ts WONDERFUL). I served these mushrooms on the side. It's the first time that I've tried at home. Well , I was happy to see that there were 4 left. Yum...can't wait for them to leave so I could indulge myself. Much to my disapointment when I went to clean up, they were all gone. I guess they really were delish. Thankx for a winning recipe

Egg in a Hole

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2012
MEMORIES Sweet Memories! I'm almost 64 years old and you brought me back to my childhood. If I remember correctly I took the recipe from a Kids Betty Crocker Cook Bood, infact I still have it somewhere. I'll see if I can find it and post it. How I made it was I'd butter one slice of the WONDER Bread, flip it butter the other side, cut out the middle. Then put the frame in the fry pan, add the egg and fry until the underside of the bread was golden. Oh yes I did fry the hole. When the second underside browned out out of the pan it came. Then the fun would start. I'd break the creamy yolk and dig in. Ya' know I think I know what I'll for my B'day breakfast 1/25. Think I'll make a more mature version and use a whole grain bread.

Sweet Potato, Carrot, Apple, and Red Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2012
What an absolutly WONDERFUL soup. I made some minor alterations, but the soup would be perfect as is. We like our food with lots of flavor so I added additional ginger (jared paste-very handy),paprika and chili powder. I blended with an imersion blender half way to puree. I didn't have yoghart so I used about 1/2 a cup of fat free half and half. To top it off I chopped some cilantro (always a delight). Hubby and I really, really enjoyed it and it will definatly make it again, probably when we entertain. Thanks Zhidaoma....you tickled our taste buds. We highly reccomend giving it a try.

Guinness® Corned Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
How Yuymmy!!! This is probably the best corned beef that I've ever tasted (and I'm 63). First we used the cheaper cut of CB. The night before we cooked it we marinated the corned beef, stout, and brown sugar in a zip top bag (refridgerated of course). We cooked it on the stove top until tender. Removed the meat very carefully (it was that tender) and added carrots, onions, potatoes and cabbage(last). Cooked until tender and that was it. By the way and I guess this is pretty important, I TOTALLY DISLIKE THE TASTE AND SMELL OF BEER. Infact I don't even go near my DH if he has had one. This taste was not aparent in the finished dish at all. Today is the day for Ruebens, can't wait! By the way, our Shih-Tzu "Chai" (Hebrew for Life), loved her sampling. Looking forward to next year, (or maybe a little sooner :-)! Thanks Shameless

Cracker Candy

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
This is deliciously WOW! I'm having a hard time keeping away from it. We made it with the Kebbler crackers, brown sugar and vinilla. Used release foil and had no trouble at all with sticking. We cut it up with a pizza cutter (the wheel type). We did use walnuts, should have chopped them a little finer, maybe they would have stuck better. Next tine for varity we'll use either graham crackers or Ritz. Thankyou VEREY much for the recipe. One thing though my waist line may suffer.

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread II

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
My hubby absolutly LOVED this bread! I'm jelous! Not really, after 25 years of marraige I'm pretty secure in our love. Did make some healthier changes. I used 1 cup of apple sauce instead of the shortening. One cup of brown sugar and one of white. Two cups of whole wheat flour, one of unbleached white flour. One and a half t. cinn. (could have used more, I'll know for next time. Didn't have chocolate chips or walnuts, so I used one cup of raisens. This is a wonderful recipe TI2GR. I just needed to alter some of the ingredients for our life style and lack of some of the ingredients, so no hurt feelings please. I think I'll be making another batch to share this evening. By the way I liked the addition of the mayonaise, the bread is very moist.

We just LOVE these sandwiches, infact packed ours to carry home from our childrens home yesterday. It was great not to cook when we got home. Just warmed some squash soup that my daughter prepared...and wala dinner! What I typically do is combine equal parts of whole cranberry sauce and mayonaise (or to taste) and keep it in the fridge for most of our coldcut sandwich~YUMMY!! Hope you had a YUMMY Thanksgivingm with many things to be thankful for...we did...life, good health and certainly our family! (our pets too!)

Avocado Chicken Wraps

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2010
It's 2:50 AM and I started my review at 2:15 and just as a finished it lost the page!!! But amazingly no bad words passed threw my mouth. HALLELU-YAH! So hear again I start my review. This recipe sounds great but it didn't mention my favorite herb...CILANTRO!!!! (you can find it in the produce department near the parsley) I use it in almost every dish. If you haven't tried it yet here are some (what I think)are some terrific places places to use it. green salads, eggs, fruit salads and certainly this yummy wrap recipe. What I also use on my fruit salad is something called"Cajin fruit seasoning". If you can't find it, you can use any creole seasoning or chille powder. Here's also a little hint to save you some penny's. When you need to buy corrindro, tumeric, chilli powder, garlic etc. go to the International section. Go to the foods from India and the Oriential products. The quality is better and they are much less expensive. Well, that's about all for now, hoping that this information helps and that it can enhance your cooking experience. Happy Cooking, IleneFaith.

Southern Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2009
One of my husbands favorite foods os potato salad. This is very close to the ingredients that I use, but I don't have an actual recipe. There is one thing that I do add and that is some green peas. Frozen (partly cooked) or canned. I'll also add some chopped red or yellow pepper. Tastes great and adds some more color. This is a dish that I really enjoy making and it goes quickly at a pot luck...enjoy!!!

Avocado Mango Salsa

Reviewed: May 17, 2009
This is a delicious and refreshing salsa. I had to substitute lemon juice for the lime and cayanne pepper for for the jalepeno. (Since that was all that I had.) Made it twice in 3 days. Served it with salmon first and then on toasted corn tortias and refried beans. YUM...will look forward to the next time. I'm sure that you'll enjoy it too!
