Old-Fashioned Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2010
This is the most wonderfull tasting fudge I've ever eaten. Made this with my one of my sisters, we used mint extract instead of peppermint, was gone in a matter of minutes.

Chocolate Icing

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2010
This was a wonderful recipe. I made one change however, I used dark brown sugar, and 3 tbls of cocoa, much more chocolaty. Of course I had to add a little more milk. Hint, this should be just barely pourable when finished. Thanks for the great recipe. I used it on brownies, as well as a zuchinni chocolate layer cake.

This is good, but I still prefer the usual recipe my family uses. We all have different tastes, and this is very good. Thanks.

Merenges

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
I remember making this with my mom once, when I was six. This is exactly what it was, I spent a long time look for this recipe, and now I finally find it. It is really tasty, and you can bake them on cookie sheets without parchmeant paper. Just spray them very well, I don't usualy add the lemon zest, but it gives it a nice tangy flavour. The bottoms should be slightly brown when they are done cooking, and should just come right off the pan when they are lifted. If they stay on the pan, you've got another five and six more minutes of baking.

Easy Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
This was great. I made it for my dad's birthday, everybody liked it. I hesitated to use whole milk (We never buy 2%) but after reading some of the reviews i did. We didn't have miniature chocolate chips, so I grated some baking chocolate and added that. It looked and tasted wonderful. Also, I have encountered problems with toooooo too too much mint or peppermint extract in the ice cream. So I just added till it tasted right. Thanks for the great recipe.

Double Chocolate Frozen Fudge Pops

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
These were awesome! I made a double recipe, my family loved them. With nine siblings and mom and dad, these hardly last for three days. I melted the chocolate chips, I thought it tasted better. Thanks for the great recipe Ying.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
This was wonderfull, I felt like I was eating something from a store, only the best part was, no MSG! This was a really good recipe, I made sixteen servings, doubled the filling, also I added parsely, and I chopped up some celery leaf (my Mom's idea) to substitute for the celery seed, we didn't have any. WE also had some phyllo dough in the freezer that needed to be used. So me and my mom topped the pies with that. Also, we used cooked, farm chickens. I took the meat off of it and cut it into little bite sized pieces, did not cook it with the vegtables since it had already cooked it. Put it on top of them when they were done softening. I also used soup broth instead of water to soften the veggies, it didn't waste water, and I reused it to make the filling. Added some chopped and peeled potatoes. Really good.

Tips to make this come out nicely: Once the cream cheese and sugar are in. Slowly beat the eggs in until just barely combined. Then with a spatula gently mix in the other ingredients.

Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2010
This was wonderfull! However, I did increse the baking time, put a whole cup of sugar in the cake, and four tablespoons of sugar in the topping. I was pleased with the results. I had to use walnuts, (we didn't have pecans) and also baked the cake when the topping was on for eight minutes.

Sweetened Condensed Milk

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2010
This was a great recipe. But if you are planning on using it with fudge, like The Peppermint Fudge, or whatever the name is, do NOT add cornstarch. I know what happens. It becomes hard and thick, and goes into a ball. Baker Bee, the problem you most likely had was undesolved sugar. Make sure you do it quickly, I did mine in a food processor, let it run until the sugar was dissolved, sometimes stopping so the processor dosen't over heat. Perfect, smooth condensed milk. I hope this helps.

Soft Sugar Cookies IV

These were delicious! I didn't have any white sugar left to roll them in, so I used brown. It gave it a nice flavour and pretty colour. I will be making these again.

White Mountain Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
This was awesome! I loved it. I made this for Easter and made a buttercream to ice it with, perfecto. I was a little timid about making it, since I have been known to mess up cakes occasionaly, but this turned out great! I took the other viewers advice and added another half cup of milk, we only had a little shortening, so I used what was left and finished it up with butter. My family loved this, it was gone in a day! Will definatly make again. :)

Amazing Pecan Coffee Cake

Reviewed: May 29, 2011
This was really good. I didn't have any pecans so I subbed almonds, and thought that was delicioius. The cake itself was quite dense, but at the same time sort of had a light taste to it. My family loved this and it was gone the day it was made. Will definatly make this again.

Simple Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2011
This is definatly going to be a constant bread made now! The texture came out perfect, and it was delicious. Only next time I'm going to add even less sweetener, overall, I thought the sweetness was the only thing dragging it down. I used more whole wheat flour then called for, it didn't make as much as I expected, so next time I'll have to double it. My family is very large so three little loaves didn't last very long.
