Buttery Rolls

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2011
Tried this recipe tonight After an almost epic blunder of putting all my ingredients in the bread maker, and after 10 minutes of it doing it's thing, I realized I forgot to add in my yeast! I added the yeast, and kind of hand worked it in a few minutes, then let the bread maker keep going. Didn't think they'd turn out very well since I messed up, but these were AMAZING! I used butter to line the pans with, and drizzled more on top of each roll before baking. Turned out soooo yummy!

Classic Goulash

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2011
Sometimes pleasing all my kiddos taste buds isn't easy. They all LOVED this. The only thing I did different, was I boiled the pasta separately for a little bit before putting in to simmer (trying to cut down on time it took to cook it) and I did not have any Italian seasoning, so substituted 3/4 tsp each of Basil, Rosemary, Thyme and Oregano and a touch of Marjoram. I did half the recipe. Will definitely be making this again! Oh, and I added a half a green pepper as well. Thank you for this recipe! :)

Cheesy Beef Spirals

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
Kids loved it! The only thing I did different, which is minor, is used fresh chopped mushrooms instead of canned and I threw in an extra clove of garlic (my first one seemed rather small). Husband even loved it....I had planned it for leftovers the next night, but he ate it when he came home at 3am from work, and again at lunch the next day. :) Must've been good heated up as well! Definitely a keeper for my family. :)

Chinese Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
This was my first try at Stir Fry. Have been trying to change up our old boring menu. My kids absolutely looooved this!! Not one drop was left! The only thing I did leave out was the tomatoes as I have one kiddo that doesn't like them. They raved and raved and asked me to cook it again! I didn't alter one thing of this recipe other than leaving out that tomatoes, but that's just personal preference. :)

Beer-Batter Onion Rings

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2011
Hubby and kiddos loved them! Did have to give 4 stars as I had to use about 1 1/2 bottles of beer for the batter to get the pancake consistency everyone talked about in reviews. Also added quite a bit of seasoning salt, some garlic salt, and some paprika. (Only added the extra seasoning after making a few, and hubby tasting them and saying they needed the seasoning.) Would've given 5 stars if it weren't for this. Really easy to make. :)

Speedy Oven Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2010
I have not made fudge in years as I always hated having to do the candy thermometer, and drop the ball into water, thing. This recipe is amazing!! Was soooo easy to make. Literally took just a few minutes (other than the baking time). The flavor is soooo good. I really like my fudge a little bit more firm...almost hard....this comes out a little less than that after refrigerating. But the ease of the recipe, the flavor of the fudge, and the fact that it allowed me to make it again after so long definitly warrants giving this recipe 5 stars!! (I did take the reviewers suggestions and added the 1/4 cup butter and tblspn of flour, mixed together then added to the recipe mixture.)

Bacon and Cheddar Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
It was a split decision. Most everyone said these were great, hubby said they were just okay. Since he's the most important, I have to drop it one star. Followed recipe to a "T".

Never Enough Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
This was a hit! I doubled the recipe since we were having about 20 people for dinner. It was gone very quickly! My kids raved and raved about it and have requested that I now cook this more often than just Thanksgiving and Christmas! The only thing I did differently was to leave out the extra mushrooms and I used Real Bacon I had fried up and crumbled. :)

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2010
I cooked these last year for Thanksgiving. I made two batches of these, and every single one of them was eaten. Everyone raved about them, and complained because they were eating too many. I was new to the dipping in chocolate thingie, so mine weren't as pretty as some, but delicious none-the-less. I'm hoping to perfect the dipping method more this year. :)

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
This was my first time baking bread. I just got a new Kitchen Aid stand mixer and wanted to try it out. First time I've cooked bread in 20 years. This was SOOOOO good! Hubby, kids, everyone loved it. I follwed the recipe to a "T". Used the amount of sugar it called for despite reviews calling for less. It was perfect for us. This has made me want to bake bread regularly, it was so easy and good!

Angie's Perfect Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2010
First timie I had ever used yeast and made homemade rolls (or bread of any sort). My family enjoyed them immensely. I did figure out they turn out better in a glass pyrex pan vx. a metal cake pan. The metal turned the bottoms much darker (almost too dark), and with the glass, the tops and bottoms were about the same golden brown. I think next time if I use this again (Probably will) I will make them bigger though. mine turned out sorta like mini rolls, and I was expecting them to be much bigger. Thank you for the recipe!

Herbed Pork Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2010
This was absolutely wonderful! Everyone in the family loved it, and it was soooo juicy and tender, even though I overcooked it! I had set my timer for 2 hours, checked it at 1hr 40 min and it was already at 170. Eek! BUT unbelievably, it was still the most juicy, tender pork roast I had ever cooked. To give you an indication of how tender it was, my 12 year old daughter told me the texture was kind of funny and squishy because it was so tender and she wasn't used to that! Thank you, will definitly use again!

Creamy Chocolate Cupcakes

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2010
Followed the recipe to a "T". I was so excited to make these, but highly disappointed when done. They were just "ok". The chocolate part was very dry and dense, and the filling wasn't reallly as creamy as I expected, altho it made the center of the cupcake more moist. Won't make these again.

Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2010
Excellent Recipe. I used it for 6 chops as well, but didn't think it was enough seasoning since we like a lot, so I tripled the seasoning and rubbed it on the chops. Substituted Garlic Salt for the salt. Added about a teaspoon of crushed rosemary. Used 3 cups of the bouillon. We like a lot of gravy so any less would not have been enough. This was so good, that my 2.5 year old who rarely ever eats the meat, only ate his pork chop and kept coming to me for more bites! :)
