Spent Grain Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
We love this recipe. The first time I made it, I didn't have the vital wheat gluten, so I added an extra tsp of yeast. We also didn't have the rye flour, so I substituted barley flour... worked out great. Started the yeast in warm water and sugar, then mixed it in the Kitchen Aid, kneaded for 5 minutes, let it rise, shaped it into a peasant loaf and cooked it at 350F for about 35-40 minutes. It was delicious. Now I have all the ingredients, and I'm trying it as written, but I'm sure it will be just as good. :)

Streusel Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2011
I always make the recipes the way they're written the first time, unless everyone agrees on a modification. I didn't have pecans, but this moist coffee cake is delicious. If you do like I did, and not split the batter/topping in half but just put all the batter in with all the topping on top, add about 5 minutes to the cooking time and let it cool a lot before trying to serve. :) Will make this again.

Best Ever Pie Crust

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2011
I made this exactly as written. I added the water with my KitchenAid. I didn't even take the time to chill it, and it was wonderful. Those people that didn't have it turn out right didn't do it right! ;) Hubby even liked it, and that is worth 5 stars in itself!

Buttermilk Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2011
I was not impressed... sorry. I baked it exactly as written, and it was flat, and the topping was dry. The flavor is good, but it was not the best I've had. I had some buttermilk I wanted to use up, so I tried it. I would have liked it to have fluffed a little more.

Halibut Divine

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2012
I wish I had read the reviews first. 3 tbsp seemed like a lot of mustard, but I always try to make a recipe as written the first time. I think that 1 tbsp (3 tsp) would be better. 20-25 minutes @ 350F cooked it well. It's not bad, but is very mustard-y.
