Garlic Chicken with Orzo Noodles

Reviewed: May 3, 2012
This was just ok for us. My husband and son liked it, but I thought it kind of tasted like warm pasta salad.

Bacon Risotto

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2011
This was SO delicious! I cooked the bacon in the same pan as I made this dish in, and just drained the fat out of the pan when I took the bacon out. I deglazed with couple of splashes of white wine before I added the risotto in toast and doubled the parm because we like ours cheesy. Will definitely be making it again!

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Best.Appetizer.EVER!!! Every time I make this, I get asked for the recipe. People LOVE it. I alternate ranch dressing or blue cheese, depending on what I have on hand. Also, I will sometimes bake it in the oven and put some cheese on top and brown it. Both ways it's delicious! So glad I found this! It's a staple in our house for gameday. Thanks!

Slow Cooker Reuben Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2011
This is absolutely amazing. The BEST party dip, ever! I go to the bakery at Publix and have them slice up some french bread or some of their sub bread and serve it with this dish. It's amazing! Make sure you use Bavarian Sour Kraut instead of the regular, it makes all the difference in the world! I also add some spicy mustard for good measure. Awesome!

Simple Time Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2011
Recipe was delicious. I used Penzey pork chop seasoning on both sides, and then covered it in the mayo/butter mixture. Then I covered it in shredded mozzerella, parm and a sprinkle of goat cheese. It was wonderful! This will go in the rotation for sure.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2010
I don't know if I did something wrong or what, but these were not very good. :( This was my first try at homemade brownies, and I found them pretty bitter. I followed the directions to a T, and only used milk chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet. They tasted like dark chocolate, which if you're in to it would have been fantastic, but I'll be sticking to the box variety from here on out.

Stuffed Pasta Shells

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2010
This was really good! But me being me had to tinker with it. I did 3 cups of mozzarella, and saved the last cup for on top. I added 1 cup of parm to compensate, and also added about 1/2 cup to the top with the mozz. I added granulated garlic, about 2 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of pepper to the filling, along with a 1/2 tsp each of basil and parsley. It looked pretty dry so I ended up throwing an egg in there too. :) Thanks for a great recipe!

Baked Salmon

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2010
This was a good, basic fish recipe. I skipped the tomato and mushrooms because I don't care for either of them and it was really good. I didn't care for what the lemon slices did for the fish and they left a bitter aftertaste where they were sitting so I'll probably just squeeze the lemon over the fish next time. Definitely a keeper!

Cream Cheese Jalapeno Hamburgers

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2010
These were very tasty but not spicy enough for me. Next time, I think I'll leave the ribs and sids in the jalapenos, and let the mixture sit a bit before stuffing. They were really good!

Cindy's Jambalaya

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2010
Oh my, this was DELICIOUS. I was looking for an easy jambalaya recipe and this fit the bill. For spices, I used Slap Ya Mamma, and it was to die for. Will definitely make again1

Triple-Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
Ditto on the person that said I'm not sure how anything with so much cheese came out dry and bland, but it did. It was pretty dry, not very flavorful. My son complained it didn't taste like cheese at all. If I were to make it again, I would probably use 12 oz velveeta to see how that works. I even used extra mild and sharp and still was bland.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
This was amazing! I used the "bag o Tilapia" from WalMart and the little lemon shaped lemon juice dispenser. It was VERY good! It came to a nice crispy brown color and was to die for. It's definitely a staple in the collection as far as cooking Tilapia is concerned. YAY!

Amy's Cilantro Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2009
Holy-heaven-in-a-bowl! This stuff is *amazing*. This is the type of dip that you go looking for something to dip in it, doesn't matter what as long as you get some! LOL I followed the recipe exactly and YUM is all I can say. We served it with some quesadilla rolls and tortilla chips and it will definitely be made again. I will say it makes a ton of dip and to say it serves only 4 servings is being VERY generous with portion size. LOVE it!

Cajun Shrimp Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2009
This soup was REALLY good! My husband said it was the best thing I've ever made (and we've been together for 10 years). I didn't change anything about the recipe other than I didn't get the veggies very tender when sautéing them and we really liked the crunchiness that added later. I didn't have creole seasoning but had Penzey's Cajun seasoning and I used a teaspoon and a half of that. This is definitely a keeper and next time we'll add a can of crab meat to liven things up. Great recipe!!

Broccoli, Rice, Cheese, and Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
I pretty much made this exactly as listed (I'm a firm believer in trying the recipe as designed before making changes) but I added some garlic powder and some Fox Point seasoning from Penzey's Spices. It was really good! It is one of those dishes that will sneak up on you if you have seconds and feel kinda heavy in your tummy though, so be warned. :) Will definitely make again.

Easy Pumpkin Turnovers

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2008
The filing had a little too much cinnamon in it, and it felt like it was undercooked a bit and was missing something in texture. I can't say they weren't good though, because my family devoured them. :) I sprinkled them with regular sugar before baking. As a side note, don't use phyllo dough. I tried some with it and it was good but just didn't have the same pizzaz as the pastry dough. :)

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2008
Wow, this is a great recipe! I didn't grow up anywhere near the south, but I married a local. :) He loves chicken and dumplings and always orders it when he can. When I came across this recipe I knew I had to try it. :) It was awesome! I followed the tips here, and used broth instead of water, fresh parsley (more for color but the flavor it lent was excellent!), and seasoned with about 1/2 to 1 tsp of paprika, poultry seasoning, and pepper, and then splashed in a bit of pepper sauce. It was awesome! Will definitely make again.

Bacon Cheese Frittata

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
I gave this a three stars because it was really thin with just 6 eggs and my husband was pretty disappointed in it. The only change I made was I sauteed some white onion to use instead of the green onions.

Lemon Sauce for Salmon Patties

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2008
I've been looking for a good simple seafood sauce for a long time and this is it. It's not too rich, not too fattening and is very quick to make. We served it with salmon patties and this will be a staple in our house from now on.
