San Antonio Taco Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2010
I took the taco bowl idea here, with no oil, and made my own seasoned meat with a taco packet. I was going for quick and easy! What a hit these bowls were! I molded the shell around a drinking glass and baked for 10 minutes on 400*.

Jen's Creamy Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2013
Soooo delicious! I'm definately making these again! I didn't have a full 5lb bag of potatoes....but close enough:) Also I had already started boiling potatoes in garlic water when I found this. I can't believe it didn't call for milk! I was skeptical....but I'm loving them!

Mom's Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2013
These were thicker than I'm used to so I made sure to cook them longer...but they were delicious!!! I double the recipe and did not double the salt, and still loved them:) Thanks for sharing this yummy recipe. I will definately use this again.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2013
I made 2 pies today. The first one I followed the recipe just as it was listed....no cinnamon and I poured the mixture over the lattice crust. Baked the same way and all. It was FANTASTIC!!! Wow did people love it. I was even told it was better than their grandma's, which was near impossible from what I'm told. It was HUGE anyway. The pie was not runny, the sauce was not hard to pour over the crust, the crust did not burn, it was absolutely perfect! AND, it was the first pie I had ever made! People could not believe it. Said I "nailed it" and not to change a thing. Crust, apples, recipe, cook time....CHANGE NOTHING!!! I did use my grandma's pie crust recipe.....for the first time ever. Then, since I planned on following the suggestions on the 2nd one, I had to change something...so I added 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon and did everything else the same. I can not believe I'm going to write this.....the first one was better. The second was a little too sweet. Weird! But delicious. My son liked the 2nd one with cinnamon better, my husband said they tasted the same....and just like his mom's! Wow! But I did like the first one the best. This is a fair review of the exact recipe submitted. It is perfect!!!! And if I can make it perfect my first time making a pie....it is easy. Since my bottom crust was perfect...and the recipe did not say to cook it before the apples, so I'm not sure if that is a given or not, I'll tell you my grandma's recipe says cook on 450 for 8 minutes first. YUMMY

Hamburger Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2013
I left out pork and beans and celery and added corn. This stew does not look nice in the pot, but does have a good flavor. My husband and 19 year old son loved it along with my 4 year old....however I could not get my 14 year old to try it due to the look. I ate one bowl and it was fine, but I'm super picky. If you have those ingredients in your house, this is definitely worth making, but I wouldn't buy them on purpose to make it. But thanks for the recipe.....it worked:)
