Oh my stars, this is unbelievably good! It was so simple to make - took little time, and little energy. Absolutely scrumptious!

Oatmeal Banana Nut Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2011
I'm only giving this 3 stars because I followed the recipe and it turned out very dry. However, the taste was still delicious. I will try it again using more bananas and perhaps cutting down on the flour a bit.

Lemon Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2011
This was so yummy! Very refreshing for a hot summer day. I brought this to a meeting and it was literally gone in minutes - people were scraping the plate to get the lest remnants of cheese. I used Countrytime lemonade. Perfect!

Caramelized Apple Bites

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2011
My son has been craving caramel apples ever since he got his braces, so I thought this recipe would be a big hit! Unfortunately, I had problems with it. I followed the recipe exactly but the sauce was very runny and never firmed up. Perhaps the type of apples I used (red delicious) were too juicy. That being said, the taste was still very yummy, and we can't stop eating them. It's just very messy and not all that pleasant to look at. Next time I will try a different type of apple and I will cut back on the corn syrup to see if the caramel firms up.

Corn Pudding Custard

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2011
I normally do not make microwaved meals, but I needed something quick for a last minute invite to a potluck. I made it exactly per the instructions and no one liked this dish. It was very salty, and the overall taste just didn't mesh.

Mom's Favorite Baked Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2011
The whole family enjoyed this recipe. However, I used a 1lb box and followed the rest of the recipe exactly and I had just the right amount of sauce. I added some smoked sausage and it was delicious!

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2011
This was so good!! I made this tonight for company (I doubled the recipe) and everyone raved. I think it's important to note that the root beer does not flavor the dish. It is used only to tenderize the meat. The flavor comes solely from the meat and the barbecue sauce. Those reviewers who claimed that this recipe was too sweet may have forgotten to drain the root beer before adding the barbecue sauce, or perhaps used a barbecue sauce that was too sweet. I used Sweet Baby Ray's Original BBQ Sauce (our family's favorite) and it was fantastic!

Hawaiian Beef Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2011
I was really disappointed with this recipe. Even with the unusual combination of ingredients, I had high hopes due to the great reviews. No one in my family liked this. But...I think that's because it was very, very sweet. The best way to describe it is like a sweet and sour chili.

Cajun Chicken Pot Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2011
The family and I agreed that this recipe was good, but not fantastic. It was certainly easy to prepare and smelled wonderful while cooking. The crust wouldn't brown with the aluminum foil over it, so I removed it and put it back in the oven for about 10 minutes to get it brown and flaky. I followed the recipe exactly and it made quite a bit of extra filling. I think I will serve it over biscuits for dinner tomorrow.

Rice Balls a la Tim

I really liked these but my husband and daughter weren't thrilled...but they did like them. They were very easy to make and took little time and effort. I will try this again in the future but may tweak it a bit with suggestions from the hubby.

Creamy Banana Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
This recipe was pretty good. I cut it in half and it came out a bit dry, but that could have been the result of halving the recipe. I'll definitely try again.

Ham and Cheese Bowties

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2011
My husband and I really liked this. I hate reviewing after i've made modifications, but it turns out I didn't have all of the ingredients in the house like I thought I did. Instead of colby, I used a Kraft blend of 3 cheddar cheeses (it comes in a bag). I omitted the mustard and used smoked sausage instead of ham. It was really easy to make and very, very good. Next time I'll use the colby and follow the recipe exactly.

Bev's Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2011
It's not that this dish was bad, it's just not what I thought it would be, and that's probably my fault. I thought that the sauce would come out more like a glaze. Instead, it's pretty much boiled chicken sitting in very liquid sauce. It didn't taste bad, but no one was thrilled.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2010
So yummy! I received nothing but kudos on these and people couldn't stop eating them. I had to use 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup margarine because I only had one stick of butter left. I also used 1 cup of milk chocolate chips and 1 cup of white chocolate chips (again...all I had in the house). Other than that, I followed the directions exactly. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Delicious!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2010
First of all, let me just say that the crumb topping is to die for! I made a banana bread loaf instead of muffins (baked at 350 for about 45 minutes) and it was delicious. Mine came out a tad too dry but I think that's because my bananas were on the smaller side, so I would suggest using 4 small bananas or 3 large bananas. This is definitely a keeper!
