My cooking triumphs
I feel pretty successful in most things I create, however the burger pictured was quite amazing. The homemade parmesan bun was over 8 inches in diamater and the 3 pounds of garlic and worchestershire seasoned beef was well complimented by the copious other toppings, including a pound of swiss, meunster and provelone cheeses. This "monster burger", as it was named, fed our hungry party of 5 with no leftovers and very full bellies. Served with fresh cut twisty taters, it will satisfy the hungriest and pickiest of appetites.
My cooking tragedies
Very few true flubs have occured in my kitchen, personal or professional. My favorite disaster story is definitely my first venture into the world of yucca root. My son was 5 at the time, and though I followed a recipe given me by a mexican neighbor, obviously I lost something in translation. I prepared and served the meal, only to have noses turned, food left uneaten and my son telling me that he didn't want anymore "yucky roots". My favorite story, even 10 years later.
