Best rice pudding I've ever had. Use good quality ingredients... organic white rice, imported French butter and British caster sugar for fabulous results.

Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2010
This is a decadent and elegant dessert, served with vanilla ice cream and warm caramel sauce. (I substituted heavy cream for the evaporated milk.) If you like dates, you might really like this one.

Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
I substituted the green beans with a package of fresh mushrooms, and I used a can of imported, Italian crushed tomatoes. The results are very nice. This is a great base recipe. MARCH 2015-This is my go-to recipe for staying slender... especially after a long winter and an indulgent holiday season. I use this recipe as a base. It's great. I add different vegetables each time. This time, I used two green peppers, one red pepper, one large daikon, two boxes of Pomi tomatoes, onions, soup mix, mushrooms, and cabbage. Blend it to make it more edible. You can drink it, too! Put in some hot sauce to give it a little zing. This is a very satisfying vegetable stew. I've been making it for decades.

Cream Scones

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2011
Quick. Easy. Yummy! Instead of melting the butter, I chopped cold butter into very small pieces and cut it into the flour mixture, and I also added a bit more cream. Very good with real British Clotted Cream. The result was a flaky scone. Brilliant!

Halloumi Cheese Fingers

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2011
Quick and satisfying. Halloumi cheese has a high melting point, so it's easy to cook and it tastes great with a dash of fresh lemon. I saw Nigella Lawson make a salad with spring mix, grilled halloumi and a soft-boiled egg on TV once. It's really good. I'll upload a picture the next time I'm in the USA. It's worth making.

Easy Pizza Sauce III

Reviewed: May 26, 2011
My favorite kind of recipe! Quick, easy and delicious! Brent's recipe is a great pizza sauce using ingredients many of us keep in our pantries. You can make it even better by adding garlic, onion and fresh herbs. Fresh basil makes this basic sauce really tasty. If you're looking for a quick and easy sauce. Try this one.

Pizza Dough III

Reviewed: May 26, 2011
If you like a thick crust, maybe you'll like this one. Used Hovis brand Strong Bread Flour (imported from the UK.) Added a little more flour, kneaded it after an hour and let it rise again for 20 minutes or so. Cooked to a nice, golden brown on a cookie sheet. Brushed the crust with EVOO for a nice presentation. Good!

This easy sauce makes a boring breakfast beautiful and elegant. It took just a few moments to whip up this Hollandaise Sauce. I'll upload the picture when I get back to the USA.

Quick. Creamy. Easy! Used fresh lemon juice instead of vinegar. Tasted very nice on my turkey sandwich. I'll use this recipe again.

Barbara is right. Not too hard. Not too soft. This is a very nice buttercream icing. Try it on the white velvet cutouts.

White Velvet Cutouts

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2012
WOW! Made some very charming little heart-shaped cookies for Valentine's Day. They were fabulous! I added 1/4 cup of caster sugar to make them a bit sweeter. The consistency of the finished product was nice... not too crispy and not too soft. The cream cheese adds a nice flavor. Decorate with Barbara's Butter Cream Icing.

The Best Meatballs

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2012
Best meatballs I've ever made! The meat mixture is a little wet and sticky, but that's ok. They turn out great! The meat mixture creates a flavorful and not-too-dense meatball. Very nice with spaghetti and homemade marinara sauce!

Garlic Croutons

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2012
Why buy croutons when they are THIS easy to make?I used the loaves of bread I received with my take-out from the Cheesecake Factory. The contrast of brown and white bread is visually exciting. Used fresh garlic and a bit of garlic powder and Italian seasoning. They turned out delicious!

Simply Roasted Artichokes

Reviewed: May 1, 2012
This is a quick and easy way to cook an artichoke. Couldn't find commercial-grade foil, so I used three sheets of regular foil. Whole egg mayonnaise makes a fresh dipping sauce. I'll use this recipe again.

Scrumptious Strawberry Shortcake

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2012
This is a lovely way to celebrate seasonal strawberries. Made this today in Abu Dhabi, where they don't sell Cream of Tartar. They turned out ok, but I prefer a better rise and a more fluffy shortcake. Don't leave out the Cream of Tartar!

Quick, easy and delicious. Try par-boiling and chilling before the first fry to make them really fluffy on the inside.
