Easy Lemon Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2005
I love this recipe. It's just like the one my grandmother made when I was growing up. I also like pouring it into mini graham cracker crusts so we each have individual servings.

Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2005
I'm not a ham kind of gal, but my family thought it was very tasty and my mother said it just melted in her mouth. Great holiday recipe and easy.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2005
Well we don't have a Cinnabon where I live, but years ago we had a Cindy's Cinnamon Rolls and I remember how fabulous they were. I knew this would be a labor of love, but the bread machine did most of the work. They were FAT and GORGEOUS!! I doubled the icing so it could run down the sides. It's a keeper!

Chocolate Delight

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2005
Made this as one of my Thanksgiving desserts and what a BIG hit! I didn't even get any. I made a few changes. I only used 2 small pkgs of instant chocolate pudding and (1)12oz container of cool whip. Instead of liqueur I made the Satiny Chocolate Glaze found on this website and drizzled it over the cake and I topped half with crushed Butterfingers and the other half with crushed Oreos. I will be making again for Xmas.

Chocolate Cavity Maker Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2005
This is amazing! Such a thick, rich batter. I used milk instead of liqueur and it turned out beautiful. And I only used 1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips. I also highly recommend the "Satiny Chocolate Glaze" recipe on this website as the topping.

Original Nestle® Toll House® Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2005
My husband was begging for cookies and the only reason I made these cookies is because I only had 3/4 cup of brown sugar and not the full cup my recipe calls for. So I grabbed my bag of chips and began mixing according to the directions on the back. They spread very quick and were flat with a cakey consistency on the inside. The second pan turned out the same, so I used the rest of the batter to make cupcakes and put chocolate frosting on them. Next time, if I don't have everything I need, the boys will just have to wait.

Southern Potato Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2005
No one but my husband eats potato salad, so I thought this would be a treat for him. Should have cooked the potatoes about 5 minutes longer, but he still enjoyed it

Barbecue Beef Cups

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2005
The only reason I gave this 4 stars is the biscuits. I never buy canned biscuits, but decided that's part of what makes this quick and easy so what the heck. They were really sticky and hard to spread out, so I tried to let them warm up a little on the counter so they would spread easier. I also used pre-packaged shredded BBQ beef. They still turned fine and my family enjoyed them. Next time I'll either make the biscuits the old fashioned way or buy Grands biscuits.

Best Ever Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2005
I'm not giving it one star only because it's still in the oven and I'm not able to taste it yet. I have never made a crust from scratch and I just may have not have the "magic touch". I let it chill for 4 hours and I could not get it to roll out. It stayed sticky even after sprinkling the flour and I could barely get it into the dish. I hope it tastes good, but I may have to stick to Mrs. Smith's Ready Made Deep Dish.

Chicken Cordon Bleu I

I gave this recipe to my sister by phone yesterday and her family loved it, so I made it tonight. We had french cut green beans and rice pilaf as side dishes and my husband and son loved it. It's a keeper!

Mexican Gump

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2005
Needed something quick for dinner and ran across this recipe. I didn't have an onion or any corn on hand. And I used a can of diced tomatoes that were a "zesty chili" style with onion powder and green chiles in it. My boys loved it, especially with a big spoon full of sour cream on top.

Banana Nut Bread II

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2005
Well, I was a little worried because I've had my bread machine for several years and it does not have a cake cycle. It does however have a 3 hour "Bake Rapid" cycle, which is what I used and this bread turned out BEAUTIFUL. It smelled wonderful and had a nice brown coloring. I dropped it out of the pan and let in cool for about 20 minutes before I sealed it up. It looked so moist this morning and tasted amazing.

Pecan Pie V

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2005
WOW! I can't believe it had no syrup and it tasted fabulous. I even added semi-sweet mini chocolate morsels. The center was nice and thick and the pecans on top were not fused together as they are when a "regular" pecan pie cools down. Great texture! Won't be needing the Karo anymore.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2005
Just made a batch and the kids love them. I used and ice cream scoop and could only get 5 per sheet of parchment paper(made about 20 total). They're not as thick and fat as the picture, but still soft and chewy. I used an entire bag of milk chocolate/peanut butter swirl morsels and they smelled amazing. Very easy to make and it may sound crazy, but I always put an empty cookie sheet on the bottom rack of the oven to absorb some of the heat so the cookies and anything else I bake cooks nice and easy. As an added note, don't melt the butter. Just soften it or else your mixture can seem runny.

Ranch Burgers

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2005
I halved this recipe except for the ranch packet and egg. I used the entire packet for 1 pound of meat, about 1/4 cup finely crushed crackers and chose not to use the onions. My husband and children loved the ranch flavor and the burgers were very juicy. Will definitely use this recipe again and again.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2005
These brownies are magnificent!!! I mean "melt in your mouth" and I didn't even make the frosting. I doubled the recipe and it still won't be enough. There are a few tips that will ensure your brownies are not cakey. I do not use a mixer because you can overmix your batter and whip too much air into the eggs. This makes your brownies have a cakey texture. Mix everything by hand in a bowl and lightly beat your eggs before adding them to the mixture. Gently stirring everything together makes them turn out better as opposed to franticly beating the mixture. Hope this helps, because I will NEVER buy brownie mix again.

Lemon Square Bars

I made these lemon bars for a PTO function and another mother made some from another recipe. These were a HUGE hit and no one ate the others. And yes you do cook the topping for 30 minutes.

Southern Chess Squares

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2005
Enjoyed by all, but I only used one package of cream cheese and 2 cups of confectioner's sugar for the topping and reduced the cooking time to 30 minutes. Turned out perfect.
