I have never been a fan of brussel sprouts, my mother ruined them for me as a child by making a monthly dinner of liver and onions and boiled brussel sprouts for my father, who clearly must have had his taste buds ruined in a tragic accident before I was born. Anyway, this dish has made me a convert. I followed the recipe and threw in some sliced onions to the mix just to see what happens. Oh my goodness, those crispy carmalized bits were so very tasty. Brussel sprouts have once again earned a place at my table, though I don't think liver and onions ever will.
