About this Cook
I`m a pretty fair cook, been full time for about 17 years, since I retired from the retail grocery business in 1995. I guess most of my cooking smarts came out of books (cooking type)& from internet, sights like "ALLRECIPES & Food.com, my two favorite sites. I found if you can read & follow directions, you can cook, bake, grill, ETC.
My favorite things to cook
Slow cooking, I`m kind of slow so it fits my speed & needs. Baking is another, I guess I learned while baking when you need to test the doneness of a cake & it`s too tall for a tooth pick I grab a piece of SPAGHETTI, works great, better then a toothpick, you don't burn your fingers. I`ve got a little ledge at the top of my backsplash, so I stow My 3 or 4 inch of piece SPAGHETTI there till I need it. again.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Spaghetti with burger & sauce Tacos with all the good stuff that goes inside them," WOW I think I need to make some TACOS tomorrow for dinner, I just started drooling thinking about them," (TACOS)
My cooking triumphs
Thanksgiving Dinner about 10 yrs. ago for about 20 really nervous kin folk. They didn't know I was as proficient at reading and following directions as I was. I think it turned out pretty well. No one got sick or died--- that I know of anyway. +
My cooking tragedies
When I was about 8 yrs. old I was baking a potato wrapped in mud in our fire pit in the backyard, the mud cracked open & burnt my potato to a crisp. we were cooking perch we had caught down on Coyote Creek on the wire grill above our potato's.

Porcupines
I like to use tomato soup instead of tomato sauce & put a little sugar in sauce, not so much tomato acid to the pallet. Fix in Pressure cooker rocking for 15 min., cool on it`s own. FANTISTIC!!!!

Microwave Baked Potato
I like to scrub potatoes, dry them, put in a fold top sandwich bag, spray with butter flavor oil spray, close bag loosly, one potato 2min. turn over, 2 min more. I normally fix two spuds( med, size) for 3 min, turn over,3 more min, check to see if potatoes are soft

Baked Potato
I bake my potatos in the microwave for about 4 min. for medium spud, turn over half way through.I also put them in a fold top sandwich bag then spray them with some butter flavored spray, then move around in your hands till spud in covered with nice butter flaver. Tender & delicious.I live in Arizona & you don`t want your oven going for an hour and a half at 350 degrees!!!!!!
