Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2013
We made this on Christmas Eve for 8 people. It was out of this world delicious! The only thing I did differently was put everything in the crock pot at 10:30 a.m. and served it at 6:30 pm. This is a definite keeper!

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

This was delicious just as written. The only change was that I threw all the ingredients in the food processor before I put it in the sauce pan. Everyone loved it!

Basil Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
This is a keeper! The whole family loved it, and it was so easy. I did season the chops with garlic powder first and then made the recipe as is. It was delicious!! I think next time I will add more brown sugar and bit more chili powder to make it more robust, but it tastes great if you follow the directions as is. Thanks for sharing an easy, delicious weeknight recipe!

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2011
These are AWESOME and were a big hit at Thanksgiving. My 11yo daughter almost didn't try it, but when she did, she asked if we could have it every year. This is definitely a keeper! Oh FYI, I didn't use the buttery crackers. I mixed in the French onion crunchy thingys with the whole casserole and topped the whole thing with a bit more. As a result, I did use less than a teaspoon of salt. YUMMY!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2013
This is absolutely "the best" sugar cookie dough recipe! I did exactly as it stated even after adjusting the serving size to 36. We chilled the dough for an hour because I had anxious kids wanting to cut out cookies. The dough was easy to use after being chilled...not sticky at all. I read a comment suggesting it was too sweet. Absolutely not. It is perfect as is and will not put you in a sugar coma with frosting. Also, the cut-outs hold their shape perfectly unlike the Betty Crocker packages I've used in the past. I will be using this forever!

Balsamic Tortellini

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2011
This is a keeper. It is a great twist on plain ole cheese tortellini. The only changes I made were to saute the onion in the bacon drippings. I also added more balsamic than it called for to give it a bit more flavor since I used a larger pack of pasta. It was a hit with my husband and 10 year old daughter who both had two helpings. Very yummy!

Braised Balsamic Chicken

With the exception of excluding the rosemary and thyme, I made this as is, and it was delicious! It was a big hit with my family including a 10 year old and will be included in the meal rotation. It is easy, healthy, and I always have these ingredients on hand.

Taco Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
This was great! I made the recipe as is with the exception of adding black beans and just a little layer of sour cream instead of the whole container. I also used a 9x13 baking dish. Everyone loved it so it will definitely be going into the rotation.

Baked Spaghetti

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
This was a hit in my house! I actually made it with elbow macaroni which worked really well. I also froze half of it and ate it a few weeks later. It was just as good the second time around. This is a keeper!

Oh-So-Good Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2013
This is a delicious easy weeknight recipe with ingredients I had on hand when I decided to make it at 4pm! Here are the few changes I made: (1) I cubed the chicken and sauteed it in olive oil and sprinkled a little bit of onion powder and homemade taco seasoning I made from from Allrecipes. (2) While the rice was cooking in the rice cooker, I poured half the salsa into the pan with the chicken and let it simmer until the rice was done. I used "medium" flavored cantina style salsa from Harris Teeter which had just enough heat and flavor. It was perfect. (3) Once the rice was done cooking, I poured it into the pan with the chicken and stirred in the rest of the salsa, all of the cheddar cheese and 4 TBSP of sour cream. I then baked as recommended. Left out the mushrooms because no one in my family likes them except me. The recipe was a hit with everyone and next time we are going to use the casserole as a filling for burritos. This is definitely going on the rotation!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
This is definitely a keeper and was perfect for a very rainy, damp day. I did use a can cream of chicken and a can of cream of celery along with a carton of chicken broth. I seasoned the chicken a bit with Season-all. Like others mentioned, I let the dumplings cook for about 90 minutes..which was perfect. I cooked the whole thing on low for about 5 1/2 hours, and it was perfect. Will definitely make this again :).

This was pretty good and easy to make. Like someone else said, if you like hamburger helper you will like this. I find HH very salty, but this wasn't so I think this is better. It was good for leftovers as well.

Pork Chops for the Slow Cooker

This is was just okay. The meat was fairly tender. I did do what others said by using 1/4 honey and 1/4 soy sauce, but it still isn't something I would make again.

Grands!® Easy Taco Melts

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2013
I wish I had read the reviews and realized that the taco seasoning was left off the ingredient list because without it, it was bland. I did try to doctor up the meat and salsa mixture a bit by adding onion powder and melted monterrey jack cheese. The concept is great, and it's easy to make. BUT next time I will use the taco seasoning because as is, it's just okay.
