Chocolate Zucchini Bread I

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2003
Very moist and tasty. The chocolate flavour isn't overwhelming so you can still taste the zukes.

WOW! This is very tasty and full of flavour. I will definitely be making this again. I also added mushrooms which were yummy, too.

Grandma's Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2003
I doubled this recipe in order to feed a big crowd and found it very easy to make. I boiled a whole chicken, with some celery, carrots and onion in order to make my own stock. To this I added more water, the deboned chicken, and the rest of the ingredients. Really tasty with a minimum of fuss.

This is fast, tasty, and leaves people wanting more. Particularly great if you love feta cheese, like my husband.

Barley and Mushrooms with Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2002
This would be better as a side dish to a spicy meal, than a main dish on its own.

Asian Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2002
Fast, easy and delicious. I made it with ramen noodles instead of rice noodles and it was great.

Classic Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2002
I'm trying to make myself like bran muffins! This one is very moist, good texture and the flavour is good. I substituted cinnamon for raisins. Now if I can just avoid spreading butter on it...

Amish Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2002
This cookie is very blah. The amount of oil is shocking and unfortunately, the cookie tasted more like vegetable oil than anything else. They did get big and puffy though. Perhaps it would be improved with some kind of icing, but I think I'd rather stick with a regular sugar cookie.

Cinnamon Rolls II

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2003
Yummy! Making this in the bread maker made it so easy. I even put them in the oven before they had doubled in size and they came out great. Everyone was sad when they were gone!

Chocolate Cornstarch Pudding

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2003
Easy peasy! This tasted so good. Had a great chocolate taste, was very creamy, and was a breeze to make. Definitely better than the stuff in a box!

Cinnamon Chip Apple Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2002
These were really great. I bought the chips in the US and brought them home because I've been wanting to make these cookies. I took them to a gathering and everyone was asking for more. They were very moist, even several days later. I just wish I could buy cinnamon chips in NZ!

Beef Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2005
I would happily make this again. I was a bit concerned about the amount of beef bouillon but the flavour was just right. And it was even better the next day!

Best of the Best Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2004
These are fantastic. No problems at all. Still tasted great after a few days. But definitely try to use the paper liners. I did it without and they were a tad tricky to get out of the pan. T

Beef Barley Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2003
This is a tasty, very simple soup. Rather than using a roast, I used chuck steak, which was a very cheap cut. Because it was in the crockpot, though, it was very tender and really added to the flavour. I'm going to have the leftovers for lunch today and I bet it will taste even better! The barley is definitely a must, as it adds texture and a good flavour.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins

These are excellent muffins. Very moist (and they stay moist for several days) and the combination of chocolate and spices makes them very tasty. I will definitely make them again!

Very plain, needed some salt, but inexpensive and quick. I added a lot more vegetables, too.

Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2003
Excellent. I made this for Christmas presents and it was a big hit. It hardened perfectly. Because corn syrup is expensive in NZ I used golden syrup instead (for those of us down under).

Asian Beef Skewers

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2002
This had an excellent taste. The marinade helped make a cheaper cut of meat tender. I'll definitely make this again.

Black Bean and Salsa Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2003
so quick and delicious! I used mexican-spiced tomatoes instead of salsa and it was just as good. I made it once with just regular chopped tomatoes and tried to add the spices myself and it wasn't quite as good.
