Simon and Garfunkel Pot Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2012
This was OK overall and liked the use of jarred gravy, but WAY too much spice for my tastebuds. It might be OK if the spice was cut by at least 1/2. Smelled OK while cooking, but could tell it was going to be a strong flavor. If you like strong flavors, you'll love this. Me, not so much.

Didn't have nutmeg and don't care for nuts, but made it exactly like the recipe otherwise and it was fantastic!

Salmon in Lemon-Dill Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
Delicious! Had to use a cornstarch/milk mix to thicken sauce, but have made this several times and love it over white rice with a salad!

Horseshoe

Very good recipe, and pretty close to the classic sauce served here in Springfield, IL. For those who might want a bit of a bite to the sauce, try adding a small amount of worstershire sauce. That's what the locals do and its just enough to take away any blandness of the sauce.

Monkey Bread I

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2007
Good flavor, but way too rich - and I LOVE rich foods. I'd cut back on the butter and brown sugar next time and maybe drizzle a little bit of icing over the top. Raisins were a good addition, but keep them to a minimum. Their flavor is a little overpowering.

Grilled Sausage with Potatoes and Green Beans

Talk about easy and delicious! I used olive oil instead of vegetable and used freshly ground pepper. Very easy to prepare and very tasty and filling. A new family favorite!

Slow Cooker Western Omelet

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2003
Loved the variation with hash browns - hadn't tried that before. Omitted the onions and peppers due to finicky children and included ham, sausage and bacon. Took to a school class breakfast and it was gone in no time and had several ask for recipe! I made 1 1/2 recipes and it filled the the 5 qt crock pot.

Napa Cabbage Salad

I've used this recipe for the past couple of years and its always a hit! One shortcut, though, is to just saute the ramen noodles, sesame (I subsitute sunflower) seeds in butter in a saucepan and skip the baking. Be sure to cool thoroughly before tossing with the lettuce. It's different and great!
