Soft Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2011
Followed the recipe exactly and they were perfect, well besides my 1950's oven cooking unevenly! Dough was very simple and the cookies were soft and delicious, definitely the best sugar cookie recipe I have found so far!

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2011
These were okay - simple enough to make when you follow other people's changes, just freezing the balls before you dip them. The chocolate coating was not enough to cover all the balls though. They were just too rich for my taste but other people enjoyed them.

Fruit Dip VI

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2011
Absolutely amazing. So simple to make - the only change was that I used a hand mixer to smooth the consistency a bit. Used it for a bridal shower with a variety of fruits and everyone loved it - i may have even eaten some straight off the spoon!

Sweet Lime Iced Tea

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2011
Not my favorite - I made it for a bridal shower and it wasn't loved. I followed the recipe exactly and it was very easy but the flavor was a bit off for me.

Pineapple Banana Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2010
this was a great banana bread - i wish the pineapple would have tasted stronger but the moistness was perfect! i made the recipe exactly as called but baked it 5 min extra and it was still super moist. this is one i will make around with and experiment with changing it to change the flavors now that i know it is a great recipe!

Asparagus with Cranberries and Pine Nuts

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
I steamed the asparagus beforehand and once the pine nuts and cranberries were done (be careful - pine nuts cook really fast on a gas range!) I removed them from the oil and used the same oil for the asparagus. I topped the asparagus with the mixture once it was plated and added a bit of feta. The flavor was good, I am going to try fresh cranberries next time so they will be a little less chewy.

Raspberry Banana Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
It is a great raspberry bread! My roommates and I found the banana flavor lacking because the raspberry was so overpowering and I used the amount it called for. I added 1/2 cup sour cream at the end because as I was mixing it I could tell it was going to be a little dry and we love moist bread in our house and it worked great! Next time I will add more banana for sure but this is a great recipe to play around with. I also used baking powder as well as baking soda and added 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg for a little flavor punch.

Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2010
I doubled the pumpkin and the spices, and used pumpkin spice instead of allspice - it was great! I baked them at 350 for 22 minutes and they were moist and perfectly done. The flavor of the cream cheese frosting was AMAZING! However I couldn't get it to firm up so it is a soupy consistency - still trying to work on that.

Maple Teriyaki Salmon Fillets

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2010
I have been waiting to make this for a couple weeks now and it was so perfect! I would put a bit more marinade on the salmon but the flavor of the marinade was great! I am going to try it on chicken and veggies in the future because it was a great marinade!

Baked Asparagus with Balsamic Butter Sauce

Really good, not great, wish the sauce was a little thicker and had something to offset the amount of salt just a little but it was definitely good.

Autumn Cheesecake

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
Took some work, had a bit of a mishap with the springform (first time using it! haha) but well worth it! Had a dinner party including 5 basketball players and made the pumpkin swirl cheesecake as well and the guys finished them off (not hard for bball players but still!). Also did a gluten free crust with ginger snaps from Trader Joes and it worked great! Love this recipe and will make it again soon!

Toasted Pumpkin Seeds with Sugar and Spice

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
Made these but doubled the recipe so there was plenty to share and the roommates finished them off in minutes! I bought pre-toasted seeds and went straight to the sugar steps and it worked great! I may add some cinnamon next time to see if it adds a bit more flavor!
