Dawn's Candied Walnuts

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2011
I have made this recipe several times and it has turned out perfect every time. Besides tasting great, they also make you house smell wonderful while preparing. I made a large batch so I would always have on hand. Also made them for Christmas to add to my cookie trays.

Amish Breakfast Casserole

Great simple recipe. I have made it three times. The last time I made it, I cooked it in muffin tins for individual servings. I froze them to take out each morning for breakfast.

I love dried apricots! This was a fabulous recipe and easier to make than it sounds. It also makes a lot and the presentation is lovely. I will certainly make again.

Mushroom, Leek, Chicken Sausage and Tortellini Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2011
I have made this 3 times. It is a simple and flavorful recipe. I have made double batches and froze extra for my college kids to enjoy later since they are always short time to cook. Every time I make this I get asked for the recipe.

Pumpkin Bread IV

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2011
Made these as muffins instead of bread. They raise very little, so fill the muffin cups full. I cut the sugar and oil by 1/2 cup each and they were still great. Dense, moist, flavorful. Froze half the muffins.

I loved this soup and will make it again. My family aren't big ham fans, so will try with bacon next time.

Delicious! Simple. To save time if necessary, use bottled raspberry vinegarette.

Chicken Penne with Asparagus, Sun-dried Tomatoes, and Artichoke Hearts

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2012
Good basic recipe, but needs more flavor. I added about 1/2 cup white wine and 1/2 of a lemon squeezed, but still lacked something. I think adding pancetta while cooking and feta when serving would be nice. I'll try that next time I make it.

Slow Cooker Texas Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2013
Too sweet, not enough zesty/spiciness for my family. I made pulled pork a few weeks prior and used the pre-measured spice mixes from the grocery store. I'll try another recipe next time.

Slow Cooker Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2013
Good. don't overcook or you'll have apple sauce. Be sure to remove the lid so the topping gets crunchy. I would make again. I substituted some of the flour for oatmeal in the topping.

Mini Cheesecakes I

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2012
I wouldn't make this recipe again. The cheesecake was more like cake than cheesecake. It also stuck to the paper cups. They do look very pretty though, but taste is lacking. I'll try another recipe next time.

Hot or Cold Vegetable Frittata

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2012
This was easy to make and very good. I substituted the cream cheese for feta and used 1/2 as much. Also left out the salt because feta is salty. Mushrooms would be a nice addition to the veggies. I would make again for sure.

Apple Crisp II

Great recipe! I omitted the water as well. I've made it twice so far. The second time I made it, I added a can of whole berry cranberry sauce to the apples. The result was tart and sweet. Loved it! Thanks for sharing.
