Twice Baked Potato Casserole With Bacon

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2015
Wonderful! Tip:Don't discard the skins!! Prepare them as potato skins, add cheese and bacon and flash freeze them, then seal them in portion sizes freezer bags for an easy homemade potato skin appetizer later! Just put frozen potato skins in preheated oven at 350 for 10-15mins. Now about the Casserole! It's wonderful! Followed exactly except I added seasoned salt instead of regular salt and tripled the recipe. By tripling the recipe I have plenty to put in the pan for the casserole as well as extra potatoe stuffing to put back into my potatoe skins to freeze for last as twice baked potatoes. Love the versatility of this recipe and being able to use up all of my potatoes

Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2011
The Cook time and Bake time are not correct on this. But once you bake it for long enough it is a really good recipe. You need to brown your sausage or bacon and that takes more than 10 min. to prep it all, so just be prepareed to allow some time. I like to make it at night (prep) and put in fridge overnight so it all soaks in the bread. then take out and back in the morning. I covered with foil for 20 min. then uncovered for 20 min. and that seems to bake perfectly. I used bacon instead and only 12oz. it was very flavorful with that much bacon. also about 1/2 less cheese. Will make again this way.

Easy Crescent Taco Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2011
This is an excellent recipe from Pillsbury. This was amazingly easy and so good. We love sour cream, so we had that with it. I would just caution to watch the baking time. Cresent rolls generally don't need that long to back. My crust was golden brown after 17 minutes, so keep an eye on it after it's been in the oven for 15 minutes and use your best judgement.

Microwave Baked Potato

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2012
Good basic directions. Again I think it still varies on the size of potato and the microwave. I ALWAYS have to cover my potatoe with plastic wrap with a little water on the bottom of the plate. Otherwise if I don't they get hard and never come out soft and fluffy. I think this is just how my microwave is.

Buffalo Chicken Wing Sauce

Reviewed: May 6, 2014
Made this creamy and smooth by using the advice of another by melting the butter first and throwing in a little flour to make a roux. Perfect! I followed the rest of recipe exactly and it was so creamy and good! Then I did add a little more pepper and garlic after I made the original recipe just because we like more heat. Loved the flour roux idea and will always make my sauce creamy like this forever and because of the roux the butter doesn't separate out as easily.

Make-Ahead Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2011
These were okay only because we thought the cream cheese and sour cream flavor to be a little too strong in the dish. I would make again but next time probably add alot less cheese and cream and add butter and milk instead.

Easy Punch

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2011
Easy is right! (I've also made this spiked punch with strawberry flavored vodka - yum!!!!) Make it following exact recipe and then try changes if you like later. I found that freezing the pineapple juice and fruit punch liquid in gallon sized freezer bags made it easy for me to travel with the punch to parties. I just put the filled bags in a foil pan and it's easy to place in freezer and take out and travel. If you freeze you will probably want to take it out of freezer at least 6 hours before party so that it wont be an ice block and will mix well with the soda. I've used 7up and ginger ale. I like this punch with the tropical fruit punch kool aid the best.

Slow Cooker Chicken with Stuffing

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2013
Made this tonight. Very easy to get going and tasted satisfying. I followed all steps in recipe, but did sprinkle poultry and Italian seasonings over top of my chicken before the stuffing mixture. Also used all chicken broth, no water.

Ultimate Twice Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2011
Wonderful! Just don't add so much milk. I'd suggest only adding a little bit of milk as you mix. You're going to find that the butter and the sour cream make it creamy enough and if you were to actually add all the milk the recipe calls for you'll have a too runny mixture. I skipped adding the bacon and didn't have green onions but found adding some onion powder was just as tastey. This is the 2nd time I've made these in the last month. They also freeze up well. I wrap in plastic wrap and then put in a freezer bag. Easy to pull out and microwave for a quick side later on.

Nutty Apple Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2010
You have to like peanut butter to like this. I LOVE peanut butter! Loved this apple salad. This was exactly the recipe I was looking for. I only made ONE SUBSTITUTION: Instead of 2 cups of celery, I only did (1 cup of celery) and incraesed the apples by an extra cup (making 3 cups apples). Loved it! I like celery, but just not quite that much celery.

Cream Corn Like No Other

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2011
This was very good! Much better then the can which I don't touch. But this recipe had everyone going for seconds. I followed advice of others and didn't add so much milk. I only added enough to get my flour mixture then added to the pan. If I thought I needed anymore milk after having it all mixed together then I added a little more as I saw needed.

Peanut Blossoms II

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2011
Awesome, Beautiful! You can't mess these up. Follow directions exactly, or with slight changes, they are still wonderful. I baked mine for 350 degrees instead for about 10 1/2 - 11 minutes, than put kisses in them, and back in oven for 1 minute to get a softer overall chocolate. I used butter instead because I like butter better, (when using butter it's best suggested to refrigerate your dough a few hours to chill before putting on cookie sheets) and added a little extra peanut butter cause we love peanut butter. They were soooooo soft and chewy. Even 4 days later they still are as soft and chewy as the 1st day I baked them. Love, Love, Love.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2011
This is so good you have to make it! I did put frozen chicken breats in the slow cooker with 1/2 c. chicken broth added to the margarine and dry italian dressing. After 2 hours I went and cut up my chicken into cubes. I will be making again and again. The Italian dry dressing is what really gives it the flavor. Also I did add 1/2 cup of sour cream to the cream cheese and soup mixture at the end because we just love the taste of sour cream in things. Yummm

Party Punch IV

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2011
Good quick easy punch. I didn't have frozen concentrated pineapple juice and just used a 46oz can of pineapple juice instead. Also I ended up only using 1 1/2 (2 liter bottles) bottles of 7-up instead of 2. (because we like it sweet) Went great with Christmas dinner! Will make again.

Best Peanut Butter Cookies Ever

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2011
These are super simple and easy cookies with a few things that you always have in the house. These were very good! If you're just looking to make them as just peanut butter cookies then you've found the recipe. Good for bake sales. I would not recommend these for peanut butter blossoms as they are not a thick cookie and I like my peanut butter blossoms to be thicker and not so delicate of a cookie. I only used 1/2 white sugar and 1/2 brown sugar as other suggested. Everything else exactly the same for simple cookies.

Country Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2010
The best EASY Apple Dumpling recipe. I recently ate out at a chain resturant who had apple dumplings on their menu and all I can say is this recipe blows that resturant out of the water!!! Best Ever and no alterations needed at all to the recipe. Anywhere you take this dish everyone goes crazy over it and when you tell them the secret ingredient is Mountain Dew they are even more interested in getting the recipe from you.

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2014
Love these with any pasta bake! Pretty perfect just the way the recipe is. I half everything since it makes a lot. Sometimes I'll put some Old Bay Seasoning right into the dough mix and sometimes I leave recipe just as it is. You really can't go wrong.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2013
This hits the spot! Not to mention rediculiously easy. It's a crime not to use real onions in this. Really adds flavor. Also used chicken broth instead of water and added some poultry and Italian seasonings. Used the 2 cans of cream of chicken and won't try it any other way. I used frozen chicken Brest tenderloins frozen. I never shred or tear the tenderloins apart. Just serve them the way they are. So juicy that they fall apart with your fork. I have these slow cooking right now! These are my dinner tonight. This is about the 5th time I've made them.

Sausage and Egg Casserole

Basic and delisious! I made it for dinner. We like the occasional breakfast for dinner thing. I only added 1 extra egg and chopped up green peppers and onion powder with my sausage. Wonderful! Also great breakfast leftover the next morning.

Mom's Famous Raw Vegetable Dip

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2015
I made it as stated. But was disappointed in the high salty taste. I had to add a lot more mayo and sour cream to tone the salt back down. I know that depending on what brands of season salt you buy, the amount may need to be adjusted. After making this with only 1 teaspoon season salt, I really like it! And I will make this again, just not with as much season salt.
