About this Cook
I've been cooking since I was a teenager. I loved to cook whenever my parents went out. Now that I am older, I love to try new recipes for my family, but truth be told I have learned alot about cooking from my husband and he has learned alot about baking from me. We compliment eachother and thats something I am glad the kids get a chance to see, both parents working together even in the kitchen.
My favorite things to cook
I am a chocolatier as a hobby so I am always looking for new truffle recipes or chocolate recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Seafood always on New Years Eve...lobster especially. My mom would make a big dinner on Sunday and we would have the leftovers every tuesday. My love for chocolate actually started at christmas time when my mom and I would make chocolates for gifts. I have come along way since then! The best family tradition is not to cut the skin off a turkey on thanksgiving or christmas but rather peel it off in large pieces so we can savor the delicious flavor.
My cooking triumphs
Mastering how to temper chocolate. I also have discovered a pastry recipe that my husband just absolutely is crazy for. I can not buy store bought or he wont eat it!
My cooking tragedies
I was making stuffed bell peppers when I was a young bride and I was having my brother in law and wife over for dinner. I followed the recipe but did not use instant rice so we ended up having crunchy stuffed peppers.

Ginger Pork
Definately a keeper of a recipe! It is easy to make and you can tailor it to suit your needs by adding brocolli, pea pods, green peppers, you name it. The sauce is just right, not too thick, not too thin, and if it does thicken up too much you can add more soy sauce, chicken broth or just plain water.
