This was great. Not too sweet but sweet enough. I will be making mini muffins with this recipe from now on

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2011
I think this recipie is awesome, but following other reviewers advice would make it a 5 star recipie. I doubled the broccoli and cheese, and because I like a very thick soup, I eliminated the water and mixed the cornstarch in chicken broth (adding the last 4th cup last). My parents used to run a deli/catering service, and they said they would have made this soup the daily special all the time. They are really proud and hardly ever deem anything catering quality, so I was very flattered!

Bats and Cobwebs

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
I didn't actually make this but I've made recipies like this with penne so I know it's great, and just the idea of using bowties and calling it bats and cobwebs makes it a 5 star! What a cute idea!!

Shrimp and Mushroom Linguini with Creamy Cheese Herb Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2010
This was great! I doubled the whole recipie and it worked fine. I added lots more agrlic, and because my husband doesn't like mushrooms I wilted spinach and added peas instead. Peas are awesome in a creamy sauce like this.

My husband loved this, but I thought the thyme was so overwhelming. I would have cut the thyme in half

Crackers a la Yvette

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2010
Very tastey and a different idea for bringing a cheese and crackers spread to a party. I would like to find smaller crackers to use - I can never find the mini saltines and my husband doesn't like oyster crackers - and even they are a bit to small. Regular saltines are just a little big and awkward. Has anyone tried this with Ritz? or is that too buttery?

Easy Spinach Lasagna with White Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2010
I have NEVER had jarred pasta sauce of any kind in my entire life, but I decided to test this recipe out with the suggested jarred sauce because the ingredients for home made alfredo sauce can get expensive. To my surprise, this lasagna turned out very very good, and I only added a few changes. I was nervous about not cooking the noodles, so I used the no-bake lasagna (another first for me). This cut down the cooking time to 40 minutes (30 covered and 10 uncovered). I also sauted the mushroons and carrots with onions and garlic and 3 tbps of vegetable stock (I freeze my vegie stock in ice cubes, which is about 3 tbsp each). I only put the vegies on the bottom layer so it wouldn't overwhelm the dish. I never measure anything, so I used my eye for the amount of ricotta, parmesean cheese, and spinach and I added 2 eggs to the ricotta mixture. I only wound up using about 1 and 1/4 jars of alfredo sauce and have some ricotta mixture left over, so maybe I'll make some stuffed chicken later in the week. I plan on making this for the holidays and surprising my jar-sauce prejudice Italian family ...or maybe I just won't tell them it was prepared sauce at all
