Old Fashioned Mac and Cheese

I did not like the Swiss cheese or the onion in this Mac and cheese. The butter and flour for the roux should be in equal amounts and NOT cooked over medium-high heat! I learned this the hard way because it did not form into a paste, but instead it started turning a dark brown and smelled like it was burning. I saved the roux, but still didn't like this because of the onion and Swiss cheese.

Homemade Mac and Cheese

I loved this Mac and cheese. But I was a little confused by the 1/4 cup butter and 2-1/2 T. Flour called for in the recipe. Then later in the instructions, we were told to "stir in enough flour to make a roux." Please be advised that flour and butter should be in equal proportions for a roux: 2 T. Butter to 2 T. Flour. Besides that little problem, this was amazingly tasty!!! I loved the buttery bread crumbs on top.

Rice Balls a la Tim

Yum! I followed the recipe ingredients exactly except I used seasoned bread crumbs this time around (too bland otherwise). These are yummy and filling. I've had trouble with the balls not browning though, so this time, I hiked the oven temperature up to 375. It still didn't brown the outside in 25 minutes, so I then had to broil for about 7 minutes. Perfection.

Dad's Leftover Turkey Pot Pie

My family of men loved this! I'll definitely make it again. One note - don't feel like you have to use green beans, peas and carrots. Tastes great with any vegetables you have on hand.
