Split Pea and Sausage Soup

I really enjoyed this version of split pea soup. My mom always made it with ham hocks when I was growing up, but I was trying to find something with more meat flavor in it. This was perfect! My family loved it, including my 17-month-old son. I plan to stick with this recipe whenever I make split pea soup in the future. Yum!

Rutabaga Casserole

The rutabagas were REALLY hard to cut! I had to have my husband muscle them. Then they took quite a while to cook. The finished product tasted pretty good, but I don't think I'll make it again because it was so difficult. My 18-month-old son didn't really like it.

Kielbasa Pasta Casserole

My entire family loved this recipe! I ended up inviting my mom and sister to join us for dinner, because it made so much. I had to use an 11"x14" pan instead of the 9"x13" pan the recipe calls for. It was absolutely delicious! I didn't have any trouble getting my 18-month-old son to eat it! We fixed garlic toast to go with it. Yummy!

Apple Pork Chops

I didn't really like this recipe. My husband liked it ok. I didn't like the flavor/consistency of the apples when it was done. The meat was good. I will probably not make it again.

Baked Lemon Chicken with Mushroom Sauce

This was absolutely delicious! I have always wanted to learn how to make good mushroom gravy. I will probably use the gravy for a lot of other things. The gravy would make great Mushroom Burgers! I wondered how the lemon chicken with the sauce on top would taste and it was yummy! I will probably make this recipe many many more times!
