I used stewed Mexican style tomatoes (halves, not diced) because that's what I had on hand. Also Only had the regular sized 14.5 oz can of tomato sauce so I used the entire can. The beer we keep on hand is Coors Light so that's generally what I put in crockpot recipes. Turned out great. I don't like tomatoes so was good to be able to pick around them! I also cooked on high for half the time and was still great. Husband loved it and he usually turns his nose up at soup. Not that spcy but probably due to the lack of chiles in the tomatoes. Also, read some poor reviews saying they could only taste the beer. Not to be contrary, but there is no way you would taste the beer seperately from the other ingredients unless you did something wrong. Awesome fall meal!!
