About this Cook
I have been married since July 21st, husband was born in Zagreb, Croatia therefore, I do cook a lot of Eastern European recipes, that I learned from my loving Mother-in-law..very excellent recipes. My Mother was a cook/chef, so I did learn a lot from her also..a lot..her recipes I will make forever,,,we do eat them almost everyday..I love & miss them both very their recipes is a tribute to their memories.."gone from here,,,but in my Heart Forever!!!"
My favorite things to cook
Lets see, my most favorite thing(s) to cook are, cabbage rolls, perogies, pasta sauces, tomato & different cream sauces. Lasagna, French Onion Soup..or any different kinds of soups..both broth type & cream. I love to make my own homemade bread & buns. I love to bake all types of things..from pies, to cookies, cakes, tortes, fruit strudels, cheese strudels..give it to me and I will bake with it..LOVE to BAKE..baking for me is a stress buster!! <3 to bake!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My most favorite cooking traditions have to be the HOLIDAYS..Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving..any and all special occasions..I just love to cook and or bake.. I LOVE to bake cakes...friendship cakes & starter, have been my most treasured find here on I made this some 20 yrs.ago, my BFF who 1st gave me the starter & glass jar, was killed in a highway accident on boxing day I make this cake in her u Betty !! xx
My cooking triumphs
My c00king triumphs have to be an old fashioned Fruit Cake...Christmas Cake!! Also the Strudel making did not come easy,,but I think I have it mastered now!!
My cooking tragedies
My cooking tragedies had to have been my first Fruit Cake...I put everything in the bowl, mixed it all up..tons of fruit & nuts..packed into the pans..put in the oven to bake..looked on the counter just to look @ my "triumph"...there was my 'flour mixture'..I forgot to mix it into all the fruit and nut etc, mixture...I had to hurry & pull the prepared pans of mixture out of the oven...dump all back into the large bowl...reline all of my pans, regrease...mix the flour into the fruit & nut mixture (which was now getting hot:(.. and put back into the oven to bake for hours...I must turned out pretty one even knew, until I told my Mom over the phone, not knowing my Brother was there, and he overheard my Mom saying, "don't worry, I won't tell anyone"..he, of course, asked her to tell him what I he teases me all the time about making Christmas Cake without flour!!..hahaha..:)

Thirty Day Friendship Cake
This recipe is just the exact one that I received from my BFF 20 yrs.ago. She was killed in a highway accd. on Dec.26/2000 RIP Betty Krcel...I still have her glass jar, but could not find the recipe for the cake or the starter until I punched it up here. Thank you I love this recipe site the most of any of the ones I have belonged to over the years...this recipe is just excellent, & I thank 'Yvonne' for publishing it here!! You made my year!
