My cooking triumphs
My c00king triumphs have to be an old fashioned Fruit Cake...Christmas Cake!!
Also the Strudel making did not come easy,,but I think I have it mastered now!!
My cooking tragedies
My cooking tragedies had to have been my first Fruit Cake...I put everything in the bowl, mixed it all up..tons of fruit & nuts..packed into the pans..put in the oven to bake..looked on the counter just to look @ my "triumph"...there was my 'flour mixture'..I forgot to mix it into all the fruit and nut etc, mixture...I had to hurry & pull the prepared pans of mixture out of the oven...dump all back into the large bowl...reline all of my pans, regrease...mix the flour into the fruit & nut mixture (which was now getting hot:(.. and put back into the oven to bake for hours...I must say...it turned out pretty good...no one even knew, until I told my Mom over the phone, not knowing my Brother was there, and he overheard my Mom saying, "don't worry, I won't tell anyone"..he, of course, asked her to tell him what I did...now he teases me all the time about making Christmas Cake without flour!!..hahaha..:)
