Apple Crisp II

Thank you for this recipe, it was wonderful! It was my daughter's 18th birthday yesterday and she wanted apple crisp for desert instead of cake. I made this for our family dinner and it smelled wonderful as it cooked and was delicious - rave reviews by all. I used Granny Smith apples, added a bit of nutmeg to the topping, doubled the topping as suggested by others since we all really like that part of the dish too, and used cold butter to cut into the topping. Excellent taste and consistency. I prepared it the night before, refridgerated it overnight, and popped it in the oven for about an hour before we started our main course - perfect! This will be my "go-to" apple crisp recipe!

Curried Butternut Squash and Pear Soup

I tried this recipe on the weekend and it was fantastic. I took another reviewer's suggestion and used coconut milk instead of the half and half. I chose to use a couple of carrots instead of the pears and it turned out lovely. I'm going to get pears next time - I think their sweetness will be amazing with the curry and squash. Thanks for this wonderful recipe!!

Slow Cooker Ham

This was the easiest ham I have every done, and was excellent in taste and tenderness. My husband decided that he wanted ham along with the turkey I was cooking for our Canadian Thanksgiving this past weekend, so I found an 8 pound bone-in ham and threw it in the crockpot as per this recipe! The juice of the ham and the brown sugar turned into a great bubbling sauce that enveloped the ham beautifully! Everyone loved it, I looked like I was an amazing cook for getting both on the table! Thanks for a simple and great recipe!

Pork Tenderloin with Pineapple Salsa

My 15 year old son and I made this yesterday for our family. I had to separate some of the salsa to make sure we had some left for supper - it was great with tortilla chips! We LOVED both the pork and the salsa. It was so simple to make, in fact my son made the salsa himself. I cooked the tenderloin on the BBQ and used the glaze during the last 10 minutes so it wouldn't flare up on the grill. Looking forward to doing this in the oven during the winter! This will be a regular meal in our house from now on. Thanks for posting a simple but delicious recipe!

Pineapple Banana Bread

I've been making this recipe for years and everyone who tries it loves it! I substitute applesauce for at least part of the vegetable oil so it makes it a little healthier and you'd never know the difference.

Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies

Made these yesterday and loved them! No mint chocolate chips/chunks to be found where I live, so I bought a mint chocolate bar and chopped it. I used cake decorating food colouring (I had it on hand rather than the liquid drops), which worked really well. Too easy in my KitchenAid stand mixer! My husband and 2 teenagers love these and they are definitely added to my list of Christmas baking recipes! Thanks for posting!

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Made this over the weekend to test it before Christmas. We loved it. I think that I would stir it part way through as the middle was a bit soggy and the outside cooked harder. Mixing it should even that out a little. Mine was easily done in 4 hours, so I turned the crock pot to "warm" and it was ready when we were! Highly recommend this as an easy way to serve this wonderful side!

Cherry Pie IV

This was a great pie! Sour cherry is my favourite and luckily, a local farm market had pie cherries on sale, so I didn't even need to pit them! I used about 3/4 cup of sugar and 4 Tbsp of cornstarch based on the taste and consistency of the cherries/juice that I had. My family loves this and luckily, I have more cherries in my freezer for another one soon! Oh, I happened to have a pre-made crust available to use, otherwise I always use the Crisco pie crust recipe. Thanks for sharing this - it's a keeper for me!
