I really like the low carb life style. Started out a second cook in high school and have been cooking ever since. Even went vegetarian for a while but this didn't last long. I keep a garden with both veggies and herbs so summertime is a fantastic time to cook.
My favorite things to cook
I love my grill, a Big Green Egg. Virtually anything turns out great off of this thing! Steaks, slow smoked pork shoulder, pizza and even spaghetti squash turn out fabulous. I use a lot of rubs/marinades and am always looking for something new. Just discovered miso, yum. I also like all the good veggies like cauliflower (what can't you do with cauliflower?), all varieties of cabbage, Brussels sprouts, eggplant, broccoli, green beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, celery, squash, zucchini, onions, peppers, asparagus, artichoke, spinach and greens.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Definitely Thanksgiving. I'll do a smoked turkey, a fried one and last, but not least, a duck on the grill. The duck is always picked clean! Gotta have oyster stuffing (this is a cheat day from low carb!).
