About this Cook
I'm a single working mom, who is taking on business school. The best part of my day is coming home, putting on the proverbial apron, and making something great. I live with my family (Aunt uncle, cousins, and their friends) so there is always someone to cook for.
My favorite things to cook
Secret family recipes. Now, if I could just get someone to write it down! Anything new and different. I'm a cook at heart, but my aunt is teaching me the finer points of baking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Us all in the kitchen, trying to cook everything at once! Its a great way to spend time together, talk, and vent and gossip. Many a great nights have been spent at the kitchen table until the wee hours of the morning, waiting for that one last batch.
My cooking triumphs
My apple crisp! First time baking with fruits, so it was exciting. My 14 hour slow cook pulled pork is always a favorite too! But my real specialty is my grilled Greek chicken.
My cooking tragedies
Which one would you like first? There have been more than a few kitchen tragedies. The Penne Vodka (I was a little heavy handed on the vodka) and my one attempt at creating my own recipe....turkey breasts with a balsamic glaze....I have never seen my dad spit food out that fast. I'm still working on it though!

Marshmallow Apple Crisp
This is a great recipe. My family loves it. I only made a few changes. I double the topping, but when I do, I only use 3/4 cup of brown sugar. Otherwise it gets to be a little too sweet with the marshmallows. I also add a little nutmeg and ginger to the apples.

Artichoke Spinach Dip
This was really great! I might cut down on the cream cheese the next time, but really enjoyed it!
