About this Cook
I like really good food that serves a crowd, is easy and tastes great! If I can make it on the BBQ (its always hot in socal)even better. I try to customize recipes for whatever I have in the pantry with usually pretty good results!

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler
Tried this recipe on the grill to keep the kitchen cool. Mixed the peaches (in larger chunks as 1 reviewer suggested) with a few left over raspberries and tossed in ingredients mentioned in step 2. Covered in foil, then put on the top rack of grill while husband grilled chicken for dinner. Grill was about 300 degrees. When dinner was served, mixed topping then placed back on top rack of grill (300-325degrees) and let it cook while we ate dinner and cleaned up. After about 45 minutes, it had simmered and reduced to make a yummy, crispy topped dessert. Served with vanilla ice cream- the whole family raved.

Rhubarb Strawberry Crunch
Tried this last night on the bbq. After grilling steaks and shrimp, we left the grill on low and put the 9x13 pan on the top rack/indirect heat while we ate. After 45 minutes (at about 350 degrees)the crisp was perfect, and done just in time! I followed reviewer's recipe which raised the quantities of fruit to 4 cups each and flour to 5 tbs. I sprinkled the top with a bit of cinnamon too! Yummy!
