Best Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2014
These are delicious, moist brownies. They're rich and fudgy. I followed the recipe exactly. I don't know why some reviews say they're bland or dry. Maybe it's the quality of the ingredients being used. As far as those who've used coconut oil or applesauce, you are changing the taste and are no longer following the recipe. Therefore, your rating on this recipe is misleading. I also made the frosting. It's very good, but is a little dry, so I used about 2 teaspoons of milk so it would whip up easier. Do not mix by hand. You need an electric mixer. It makes a small amount of frosting. Only enough for a thin layer on an 8 in pan. Delicious!

Strawberry Romaine Salad I

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2002
I love this salad. The flavors are so good and it's so refreshing on a hot day. Don't add the dressing until right before you eat it. It gets a little soggy fast. But, make sure you try this. it's great. By the way, I used regular white vinegar and it was fine.

Baked French Toast

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2014
I've tried several overnight French toast recipes and this is by far the best. I like to add blueberries on top, just before pouring the corn syrup mixture on top. Yummy!

Apple Raisin French Toast Strata

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2003
This tastes wonderful! I made it for a baby shower and everyone loved it. It tastes real good with maple syrup, but it really has the taste and texture of a bread pudding. If you want a french toast texture, this is not it. But, don't let that stop you from making this, because it really is yummy.

Elaine's Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: May 26, 2004
This is a very quick and delicious recipe. Instead of flattening with a fork, I dropped teaspoons of the dough in mini muffin pans. I baked them at the same temp and time as the recipe said. When they came out of the oven, I immediately pushed an unwrapped peanut butter cup in the middle. Let cool before removing from the pan. DELICIOUS!!!

Nauvoo Gingerbread Cookies

Reviewed: May 19, 2008
I'm not a big fan of gingerbread cookies. I like soft cookies and gingerbread cookies seem like they're always hard. After reading all the reviews, I decided to make these. They were the softest, best gingerbread cookies I have ever tasted. Everyone loved them at our family holiday gathering!

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2008
I make this delicious dish all year long. You can use canned sweet potatoes and get the same tasting results. I've also used evaporated milk, and half & half before, when I was out of milk.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2011
These cookies are chewy and delicious. I was skeptical about melting the butter, but followed the recipe anyway. They turned out perfect. I did freeze the dough for 15 min just to be safe. I didn't use a 1/4 cup. That was too much dough for me, so I used a chilled ice cream scoop. Worked great. If you use salted butter, omit the salt. This recipe is a keeper for me.

Maria's Rice

This rice is so yummy!! It's moist, flavorful, and best of all, easy to make. I used half the amount of butter called for and it was still delicious. This will be a regular side dish for me from now on.

Jalapeno Chicken II

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
This really is a quick and tasty way to prepare chicken. I made it tonight for my daughter's birthday dinner and everyone loved it. I baked it at 350 for 40 minutes and then turned the heat up to 400 and baked it 10 minutes longer to crisp up the bacon. Based on other reviews, I used 2 strips of bacon. I look forward to trying it grilled because I'm sure that will bring out more flavor, but not until this cold weather goes away!

Missy's Candied Walnut Gorgonzola Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2010
This salad is good, however, it's the walnuts that are DELICIOUS! They were so yummy that I made a huge batch of them, bagged them, and gave them out as gifts. Everyone loved them. Much , much cheaper than the ones in the grocery stores. They taste great sprinkled on ice cream, yogurt or to just snack on. Four stars for the salad, but 5 stars for the walnuts!!

Excellent Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2010
My poor mom made these cookies while watching a T.V. show. Unfortunately, she got side tracked and added the oatmeal, but forgot the flour! The result was oatmeal pancakes. But, believe it or not, they were delicious. Thin, chewy, with crispy edges, but good. She made them again the correct way and this recipe is now our new favorite recipe. They are perfect. She did omit the nuts, but added raisins. So, even if you screw the recipe up, it still tastes good~

Magic Chicken

People! Read and follow directions!! It calls for RED COOKING WINE, not sherry. Those are two totally tasting liquids. Also, use MARINATED, undrained artichoke hearts.

Noodle Kugel

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2010
I had Kugel many years ago and it was so delicious, I thought I'd make it for Easter. However, not knowing which recipe to use,(all recipes has quite a few)I decided to use this one. The only changes I made were to add a can of well drained pineapple, omitted the crackers, and mixed cinnamon and sugar for the top. Everyone loved it! Unfortunately, ther were no leftovers :(
