Champagne Punch I

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2011
I made this for my daughter's murder mystery dinner party. I don't usually drink alcohol, so I wasn't sure if it would taste good. Everyone loved it. For the Champagne, I used a bottle of Asti from Trader Joes, and 2 of their sparkling red wines. It was delicious.

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2011
I wish I could give this more than 5 stars. This is the most delicious moist banana bread I've ever had, and I'm not a banana bread fan. Those of you who are not following the recipe by mashing the bananas instead of slicing them are getting a different tasting bread than what this recipe tastes like with sliced bananas. The one change I did make was to dust the bottom of the pan with cinnamon sugar. It makes the bottom of the bread taste delicious.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2011
These cookies are chewy and delicious. I was skeptical about melting the butter, but followed the recipe anyway. They turned out perfect. I did freeze the dough for 15 min just to be safe. I didn't use a 1/4 cup. That was too much dough for me, so I used a chilled ice cream scoop. Worked great. If you use salted butter, omit the salt. This recipe is a keeper for me.

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2011
These are so simple and delicious! My daughter made them for her "Thank You" bags when she had her baby. A couple of these in a little plastic bag tied up with ribbon looked so special. Instead of using bakers chocolate, she used melted semi sweet chips. She also dipped 1/2 of them in melted white chocolate instead of the semi chocolate. The contrasting color balls carry on the Oreo cookie theme. Everyone loved them!!

World's Best Scones! From Scotland to the Savoy to the U.S.

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2010
I had been using another scone recipe I got from here on All Recipes. I thought it was the best, until I tried this one. Oh man these are good!! I'm deleting the other recipe from my recipe box and always using this one from now on!

Foolproof Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2010
This fudge was very easy to make and will probably satisfy a chocoholics craving. However, it's no comparison to real fudge.

Noodle Kugel

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2010
I had Kugel many years ago and it was so delicious, I thought I'd make it for Easter. However, not knowing which recipe to use,(all recipes has quite a few)I decided to use this one. The only changes I made were to add a can of well drained pineapple, omitted the crackers, and mixed cinnamon and sugar for the top. Everyone loved it! Unfortunately, ther were no leftovers :(

Chicken With Mushrooms

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2010
This was really good, but not outstanding. That's why I gave it 4 stars. I did saute the mushrooms with some minced garlic and sprinkled marinated artichoke hearts on top of the chicken before topping it with the cheese. I also mixed a can of cream of mushroom soup with the chicken broth, as others suggested. It was delicious, although I think I'll cut the chicken broth by 1/2 next time so the sauce will be a little thicker.

Magic Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2010
People! Read and follow directions!! It calls for RED COOKING WINE, not sherry. Those are two totally tasting liquids. Also, use MARINATED, undrained artichoke hearts.

Excellent Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2010
My poor mom made these cookies while watching a T.V. show. Unfortunately, she got side tracked and added the oatmeal, but forgot the flour! The result was oatmeal pancakes. But, believe it or not, they were delicious. Thin, chewy, with crispy edges, but good. She made them again the correct way and this recipe is now our new favorite recipe. They are perfect. She did omit the nuts, but added raisins. So, even if you screw the recipe up, it still tastes good~

Missy's Candied Walnut Gorgonzola Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2010
This salad is good, however, it's the walnuts that are DELICIOUS! They were so yummy that I made a huge batch of them, bagged them, and gave them out as gifts. Everyone loved them. Much , much cheaper than the ones in the grocery stores. They taste great sprinkled on ice cream, yogurt or to just snack on. Four stars for the salad, but 5 stars for the walnuts!!

Jalapeno Chicken II

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
This really is a quick and tasty way to prepare chicken. I made it tonight for my daughter's birthday dinner and everyone loved it. I baked it at 350 for 40 minutes and then turned the heat up to 400 and baked it 10 minutes longer to crisp up the bacon. Based on other reviews, I used 2 strips of bacon. I look forward to trying it grilled because I'm sure that will bring out more flavor, but not until this cold weather goes away!

Maria's Rice

This rice is so yummy!! It's moist, flavorful, and best of all, easy to make. I used half the amount of butter called for and it was still delicious. This will be a regular side dish for me from now on.

Rock Salt Encrusted Prime Rib

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
I wasn't too impressed with this recipe. I had a 20 pound prime rib and this was not enough mixture to cover the whole roast. After roasting for 30 minutes, the paste had shrunk so much, I couldn't do any "patch" jobs, so I let it cook as was. Getting the crust off was a challenge because it was so hard, like a plaster cast. As I was breaking it off, pieces kept flying all over the place. The meat was delicious and moist, but I have had equal results with other recipes, and none of the mess. We had a party of 24 and though we all laughed and had a "crack at it", no one is interested in using this recipe.

I make this delicious dish all year long. You can use canned sweet potatoes and get the same tasting results. I've also used evaporated milk, and half & half before, when I was out of milk.
