Roquefort Pear Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2014
I have made this salad three times since saving it around Easter...it's a keeper. The only change I made was using gorgonzola and pre-packaged candied candied pecans. I caramelized my own on the first go-round and then opted for simplicity. All of my family (8-82) loved this one. I used the leftover dressing (not a huge fan of over dressing a salad) to marinate porkchops the next day, also very good!

Slow Cooker Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2014
OK, I am going to be the person that makes all of the adds/changes and then rates the recipe 5 stars. First, I used ground turkey and on 28 oz jar of Newman's sauce and a 15 oz can of tomato sauce b/c we like a lot of sauce, I also used a 15 oz tub of low fat ricotta instead of cottage cheese and added a bit of milk to the cheese mix to make it easier to spread. Followed the rest of the recipe as written. B/C I have a new crock pot, I did 2 1/2 hours on high, topped with a bit of extra mozzarella and finished for 1/2 hour on low. As good a baked lasagna. Thanks so much for posting.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2013
Excellent, used hard cider instead of root beer because I didn't have any in the house. Used Stubbs (Austin, TX) BBQ sauce because it doesn't have any high fructose corn syrup--which so many BBQ sauces have these days. The whole family (mom, dad, 10 and 6 yr. old)really enjoyed this!

Garlic and Ranch Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2012
Very, very good--whole family liked this one. I did decrease worcestershire to 1 TBS and added 1/4 c. seasoned panko bread crumbs. I let them chill in the fridge for about 10 minutes prior to grilling and the came out perfectly.

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2012
I am going 5 star on this one, it was amazing. Took advice from other reviewers and doubled the marinade, except I used only 1/3 cup of oil. Everyone in my family loved this. I marinaded it for 12 hours and it was perfect.

Satiny Chocolate Glaze

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2012
Could not have been easier; I did use the microwave method used by other reviewers and doubled the recipe to heavily glaze a chocolate Bundt cake. This will be my go-to from now on.

Quick Classic Gazpacho

Reviewed: May 16, 2011
I prepared this as written but used 2 TBS of lime juice instead of sherry and added: 1 TSP cumin, 1 TSP of chile powder and 1/2 TSP of Lawry's Season Salt. Perfect for my gazpacho craving. I didn't mind the canned tomatoes at all.

Southwestern Black Bean Stew

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2011
This was great, because we are trying to cut the fat, I made it with ground turkey, I then served it with tortillas--I used a small amount of reduced fat mexican cheese for each serving. This is a total keeper.

Cranberry Nut Bark

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2010
Quick and easy. I needed 8 dozen sweets to take to a cookie exchange and I completed this recipe for my needed amount in about an hour. I made it with cashews, and premixed berries and nuts togehter to get an even distribution. My husband likes it less sweet so I added more nuts (1/4 - 1/2 cup) and decreased berries a bit. To give it a bit more eye appeal, I lightly pressed a scattering of berries into bark prior to chilling. Great Recipe Betty, thank you for posting.
