About this Cook
Working mom (in and out of the home), I love to entertain but mostly cook for my family 5 nights a week. Wiht two kids, two jobs, and a lot of extra activity, my husband and I love recipes that can be made in under 45 minutes and prepped together.
My favorite things to cook
Not a baker, but made a bunch of different kinds of Christmas Cookies this year and had a blast doing it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love to be in the kitchen with my little brother, he is an amazing cook and I learn so much from him.
My cooking triumphs
My first prime rib.
My cooking tragedies
Really awful low fat banana bread.

Roquefort Pear Salad
I have made this salad three times since saving it around's a keeper. The only change I made was using gorgonzola and pre-packaged candied candied pecans. I caramelized my own on the first go-round and then opted for simplicity. All of my family (8-82) loved this one. I used the leftover dressing (not a huge fan of over dressing a salad) to marinate porkchops the next day, also very good!

Slow Cooker Lasagna
OK, I am going to be the person that makes all of the adds/changes and then rates the recipe 5 stars. First, I used ground turkey and on 28 oz jar of Newman's sauce and a 15 oz can of tomato sauce b/c we like a lot of sauce, I also used a 15 oz tub of low fat ricotta instead of cottage cheese and added a bit of milk to the cheese mix to make it easier to spread. Followed the rest of the recipe as written. B/C I have a new crock pot, I did 2 1/2 hours on high, topped with a bit of extra mozzarella and finished for 1/2 hour on low. As good a baked lasagna. Thanks so much for posting.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork
Excellent, used hard cider instead of root beer because I didn't have any in the house. Used Stubbs (Austin, TX) BBQ sauce because it doesn't have any high fructose corn syrup--which so many BBQ sauces have these days. The whole family (mom, dad, 10 and 6 yr. old)really enjoyed this!
