Garlic Ginger Tofu

The combination of garlic and ginger was amazing with tofu. There a just a few things I had to change so that the dish actually had flavor. I have found that when eating food with rice it needs a little more salt so you can actually still taste the protein. I added a 1/2 teaspoon of soy sauce to add to the flavor. I personally really like a little bit of sesame oil for all of the tofu dishes I make and I also added sesame seeds based on the recommendation from another reviewer. I will definitely be making this dish again...or at least my variation of it! :)

Cornbread Pancakes

Great recipe! I didn't have buttermilk at home so I substituted plain yogurt and changed the baking soda and baking powder accordingly. Next time I will try it with buttermilk because the yogurt made the pancakes a little heavy. That's why I still gave the recipe 5 stars since I changed the ingredients.

Mom's Country Gravy

Thanks so much for this vegetarian gravy recipe! It was so yummy and I will definitely make in again! I did take the advice of other reviewers and added a little minced garlic and used (vegan) butter instead of oil. The gravy stiffed up quickly so I added about 2 cups of vegetable stock and simmered everything again.

Kale Chips

I love raw kale; I did not care for the kale chips. They were bitter and I just really didn't like them. I was happy to learn that the sherry adds a lot of taste even if the kale is raw. I will definitely be making a sherry and kale dish again even if it is not the chips.

Macaroni And Cheese II

I made this and it pretty much tasted like Kraft mac and cheese to me. I was also surprised to see the same exact recipe on the back of the Cream of Cheddar can. I will look for more a creative recipe next time with different variations of grated cheese.

Savory Deviled Eggs

I increased the serving size to 40 for a group of friends. As expected they were gone within 30 minutes! I recommend always using the fresh dill because the flavor helps cut the richness of the other ingredients.

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread

Wonderful recipe for left over Thanksgiving dessert ingredients like pumpkin puree and chocolate chips! I didn't have nuts so replaced them with chocolate chips. That actually helped the recipe in my case because on its own the bread is not very sweet. Overall the final product has a wonderful, pumpkin spice taste. I will definitely make this again!

This actually came out pretty good. I grew up with my mom making butter gourd so I was surprised that this dish was not as bitter. I also added a little bit of brown sugar to balance out the bitterness. I would think about making this dish again...

Vegetarian Chickpea Sandwich Filling

I found this recipe to be okay. I think the measurements for the celery and onions are not correct if you follow the recipe strictly. I found raw onions to be overpowering so if I make this again, I will lightly cook them before adding them to the mix.

Pecan Pumpkin Loaves

Honey Bun Cake

Great recipe! I made this for a colleague who loves Honey Buns. He and the rest of my office thought it was the best cake ever! Very simple to make with this recipe but used a bundt cake pan. Makes a perfect crust when flipped. Next time I will make it with more of the powdered sugar mix for the icing (topping).

Best Spanish Rice

I made this the other day to go with soy chicken tacos. I substituted with veggie broth instead of chicken broth. Next time I will probably add more onions and some garlic powder to taste. I also had to add 1/3 cup of water because the rice didn't co completely with recipe measurements.

Coconut Macaroons

I made these for my husband because he loves coconut and we can't stop eating them. This is a great, easy bake recipe. I followed a reviewer's tip and baked them each with a maraschino cherry in the middle. The cherry adds a great flavor to the coconut and a touch elegance to the look of macaroons. I will definitely be making this recipe again! One tip I have is that I found that 18-20 mins is a lot so I will probably bake them for 16-17 mins next time.

Spicy Roasted Red Pepper and Feta Hummus

This recipe is a fresh take on traditional hummus. I made this hummus for some friends and they thought it was the best hummus they have ever had. In the future I think I would maybe add some garlic. Some advice...let the flavors set for a few hours (preferably overnight) before serving.
