Amish Friendship Bread Starter

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2013
My husband and I love it when we receive a bag of Amish Friendship Bread starter, the bread always tastes so good when we finally get to bake it! Problem is we didn't have any starter and had been wanting to make it again for some time. Luckily I happened upon this recipe for the starter. It turned out great and I was able to introduce 2 friends to this process who had never heard of it! I am going to try what another reviewer said, freeze the extra bags and when I am ready for another round just go through the 10 day process without adding to until its time to bake! When I am on my last bag of starter I can do the 10 days as normal to recoup the extras in my freezer.

Cinnamon Ice Cream

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2013
I just had to try this recipe, for a few different reasons. 1-When I buy vanilla ice cream, I mixed cinnamon into it. 2-I love all things cinnamon. And 3-It had great reviews. I only changed one thing, the same thing I do with my cinnamon rolls, I did 50/50 white sugar and brown sugar. The taste is phenomenal! It's a warm flavor like all of the cinnamon pastries and desserts. This would be great with apple pie! Highly recommend this recipe and will definitely be making it again soon!

Rick's Special Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2012
This is the best buttercream I have ever made! Every time I try a new recipe for buttercream all I can taste is butter. This was excellent! I did take some advise from other reviewers... I did half shortening and half unsalted butter, always add extra vanilla to everything, and once all of the ingredients were mixed I turned the mixer on med/high and walked away for a few minutes. It was delicious! My husband even loved it as well as two of our close friends. This will be my go to buttercream!

Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2012
This is the 3rd time I have made these and they are phenom!!!! 1 minor adjustment this time, ground Turkey instead of beef (cholesterol intake for me). They were amazing!! Fiance was so reluctant to try them and he said they were the best batch yet! Great recipe!

Tomato-Cream Sauce for Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2012
This is only the second homemade tomato sauce I have tried to make... it was amazing! Fiance isn't a fan of a lot of tomato and sometimes the texture but he loved it! The only change I made was after everything was cooked I pureed the sauce so it was a thicker, smoother sauce rather than chunky - definitely will be making this again!! (It's fabulous with Meatball Nirvana and we made them with Turkey this time)

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2012
Holy man!!! These little things are delish! I just made them for the first time and fiance and I loved them! I halved the recipe, since it's just the two of us. When I finished kneading the dough I actually had it about 1/2 inch and baked them for 9 minutes... perfect!

Coconut Shrimp I

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2011
Soooooo good! I just made these for dinner and they were delish! The only thing I didn't like is that some of the shrimp the coconut didn't stick as well, and I love lots of coconut. Instead of battering and cooling, I used peeled, frozen shrimp and did all 3 steps for battering. As I got some battered I added them to a plate in the freezer to help solidify the batter, once they all were done I pulled the plate out and started frying! I made them with whole wheat flour and sweetened coconut

Baked Oatmeal II

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2011
Wow... never made oatmeal before besides the crappy microwave pouch stuff. I have high cholesterol so I am trying to eat healthier and get more oats and whole grains. This was really good! I did make some changes from looking at other reviews - I halved the recipe since we didn't know if we would like it and it was just fiance and I, skipped the cranberries because of the added sugar and couldn't find fresh ones, kept cinnamon and vanilla at 2 tsp, cut the brown sugar down to 1/4 and the salt to 1/4 tsp since my butter was salted, and added Gala apples... delish! Hopefully it is as good reheated tomorrow morning :)

Super-Delicious Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2011
WOW!!! My mom and I used to always get Zuppa from Olive Garden and we loved it! I haven't had it in years and stumbled upon this recipe and just made it about an hour ago.... DELISH!!!!!!! Fiance is not a soup person and he just inhaled a bowl of it! Super super good! We even didn't have onion and it turned out phenom. I don't have a dutch oven so I just used a pan and a pot... I did add more pepper and xantham gum because I like really thick soups. This was absolutely amazing, it's going with me for lunch tomorrow!!

Chicken Chimichangas with Sour Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2011
Fiance and I made these for the first time tonight... delish! I did think for how much seasoning there was in the chicken it would have a bit more flavor. Instead of monterey jack we made queso and layered over the sour cream sauce... fiance was very very please as was I!

All-Around Good Smoothie

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2010
I have been having a hard time getting past the taste of the Soy Protein that I bought. I figured since I rarely eat breakfast I need a supplement and I tried a smoothie, milk, yogurt.. they were all gross! This is the best so far, I think the only reason I can tell the Protein is in there is because I know. I did sub. in blueberry yogurt, extra honey and needed a tad more milk... delicious!

Princess Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
I have been on a baking spree and was looking for something different that I would like rather than my boyfriends favorite peanut butter or sugar... I am so happy I came upon this recipe... PHENOMENAL!!! I didn't change a thing but I did use the icing as the submitter recommended... it gives a nice little tartness to the cookie! I will be making these for years to come!
