About this Cook
I love to be in the kitchen. It is always comfortable and inviting. Cooking is my passion next to painting old wooden framed windows to look like stained glass. The grandkids are always a great source of amusement. I have been married for 34 years and we are best friends. We just lost our first born son at age 32 and are still healing and dealing. He left us with a wonderful daughter and 4 grandchildren. But we know that he is just gone and is more alive today than he ever was on this planet. Praise God! To supplement our income we have a huge garden and can what we can't eat fresh. We are loving life and Thank God every day for all the blessings that we have. :)
My favorite things to cook
Any new recipe I find and that I have all the ingredients to cook it right now. lol
My favorite family cooking traditions
Canning garden produce with family. There is never a quiet moment when we all get together. Wine is involved and the children run a muck!:)
My cooking triumphs
Any recipe that looks like the photo when I am!
My cooking tragedies
Biscits made from scratch.

Butternut Squash Soup
I am 52 years old and this is the first time I ever cooked a butternut squash and I have to say I had my doubts. My husband and I were blown away with the savory flavors. I must have used a very big squash because it was like mashed potatoes but we loved it anyway!
