Pumpkin Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2010
You can't miss with this recipe! Be sure to use the self-rising flour (1/2 C flour, 1/2 t baking powder, 1/4 t salt, 1/8 t soda). I used one can fat free evaporataed milk, and for the sugar amounts I used 1/2 c white and 1/4 c briown. Instead of cinnamon I use 1 t pumpkin pie spice. I prepare this dish a day ahead and bake it the next. If you love pumpkin you'll love this!

Lemon Whippersnappers

You won't be sorry you tried this recipe! A few suggestions - before forming dough into balls, coat fingertips in powdered sugar then dip dough. Then roll dough between palms to form into balls. After baking, store in food storage bag in freezer until ready to eat. These cookies are delicious and extra fun to do with kids.

Allie's Mushroom Pizza

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2006
This pizza was wonderful. I used a defrosted Boboli thin crust pizza that I had in the freezer and brushed only the olive oil over the top; used remainder of suggested ingredients along with fresh garlic, Italian seasoning, ranch dressing, sliced tomatoes, green onion, and sliced salami and roast beef I had for sandwich meat in the fridge. It was a fantastic dinner and there were no leftovers!

Oven Brown Rice

Reviewed: May 19, 2006
Great recipe! I read over all the other reviews and came up with the perfect combo: Use Low Sodium broths, this will eliminate the saltiness; Use garlic powder not garlic salt; Add 2 cut up green onions, 1 can of sliced mushrooms and 1 can of drained and rinsed chickpeas. I hope these suggestions make this even better for you.

Lemon Delight

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2006
Thanks Patty for a real winner. Each time I make this I am asked for the recipe from all my female guests. One tip is to use fat free cream cheese, and low fat whipped topping and pie filling. It makes no difference in the taste and you have less guilt having seconds. In addition, you can use any flavor pie filling. They all work well.

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2003
I have been making this recipe for years, as I first saw it in a Chicago newspaper food section back in the '70's. The only difference in the instructions is that I use 4 tsps pumpkin pie spice instead of the nutmeg and cinnamon; one half tsp baking powder; an entire large bag of regular size chocolate chips; and bake them in six mini aluminum loaf pans for one hour and 15 minutes exactly. They are superb and make great little gifts. Everyone who tries this flips and begs for the recipe. Even pumpkin haters love this bread.

Mama's Italian Wedding Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2003
I can't say enough about this wonderful recipe. It is a complete and hearty meal in a pot. We froze leftovers in individual serving bowls for meals another day. I prefer to cook the meatballs first before putting them in the soup and I made my own chicken broth to make it less salty. It's a fabulous recipe and a better than fabulous meal. Thanks, Lalena

Pound Cake with Rum Topping

This recipe is out-of-this-world. I made it in indivdual mini-bundts to give as gifts. It made 12 mini cakes that are so wonderfully moist and delicious that I am confident they will be a hit with all who receive them. This recipe is a real keeper and thanks Jessica for sharing.

B.L.T. Salad with Basil Mayo Dressing

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2002
Wow! This recipe is definitely a keeper. I served it for the first time last night with dinner with our friends. It was so good they had 3 or more salad bowls of it and wanted to skip dinner and just have the salad. It's that good! Don't miss this one. The recipe says it serves 4 but I'm sure it's a typo. 8 is more accurate. Thanks, Kimber

Caramel Turtle Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2002
This recipe was delish. The only changes I made was I used chopped pecans and instead of putting them on top I added them in with the chips and carmel layer in the middle. Also, I used white cake mix instead of chocolate and made a "blond brownie" which was out of this world. They were absolutely addictive and a keeper for sure. Thanks Jessi
