Pumpkin Cranberry Nut Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2011
I was very skeptical when I realized how thick the batter was . . . the pumpkin bread I usually make (and love) has a much runnier batter. However, this bread is DELICIOUS! In fact, this is the bread that I am making ahead, freezing and giving to neighbors this Christmas!

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2011
This was very good, but not earth shattering (hence four stars rather than five - I don't give out five stars lightly.) After reading a few reviews that said it was too salty, I only used half of the package of dry Italian dressing. It was still very flavorful, but not too salty. I will definitely be making this again.

Cheesiest Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
This was super good! (ANYTHING with a cup of heavy cream must be good though, right?) However, the next time I make it, I won't puree the potatoes and I will try it with half and half.

Famous Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
Against my better judgement, I covered the pork chops like the recipe said. Big mistake. They were ridiculously soggy and unappetizing. I tried to salvage them by putting them under the broiler for a few minutes. We ate them, but I was very disappointed.

Slow Cooker Dump and Go Cheesy Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2011
Nothing earth shattering, but very yummy and easy. I used one can of the condensed cheese soup and one can of cream of chicken, plus added some onion powder. I cut the chicken into bite sized pieces before putting it in the crock pot and cooked it on low for ~5 hours then served it over rice. I will definitely be making this again.

Greek Penne and Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
The flavor of this was fantastic! However, it was a little dry. I will definitely be making this again, but I might use some half and half at the end to make it a little more saucy.

Slow Cooker Lentil and Ham Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
For years I've WANTED to like lentil soup but have not been able to . . . until I found this recipe! Thank you, queendiva1, for giving me a lentil soup recipe that I and my family love! And, could it be any easier? Holy cow! I did substitute the tomato sauce with a can of diced tomatoes and I used two cups of ham. I've already passed the recipe on . . . (Oh, and the left overs are even better!!)

Texas Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2010
Were it up to me, I would have only given this two or three stars, but my family LOVED it. I thought it tasted like a watered down chili. I added some shredded cheddar to my bowl of soup and that helped. If I make it again (it is so easy and the family loves it, so how can I not?), I will add an onion.

Cheryl's Spinach Cheesy Pasta Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2010
Says my 7 year old: "Mom, this isn't good . . . it's GREAT!" I found it surprisingly flavorful. However, I used Italian bread crumbs and I sauteed the spinach in the olive oil with a minced clove of garlic. This is a great meal for the days when at 4:00 I realize that I have no idea what's for dinner - I typically have all these ingredients in the house. A must try!

Melt - In - Your - Mouth Shortbread

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2010
These are INCREDIBLE! I'm used to a more dense shortbread cookie, but I love these. At the advise of other reviewers, I set the oven to 350 degrees and it worked perfectly. One of my new cookie favorites.

Nadine's Delicious Tilapia

My husband and kids liked it - I thought it was so-so. For me, it needed a little something.

Cajun Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2010
So amazing . . . everyone LOVED it! I used polish kielbasa and cooked bacon instead of the andouille sausage, and I also added the spinach at the same time as the potatoes so it would wilt. Seriously, this soup is ridiculously good, and OMG, your kitchen will smell fabulous.

Green Bean Bundles

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
I took this to Thanksgiving dinner yesterday and everyone LOVED it! I tripled the recipe and used shallots instead of onions. Also, don't be tempted to over-precook the bacon - I HATE undercooked bacon, so I got it a little too crispy, which made it difficult to wrap around the green beans . . . fortunately, I had extra bacon on hand and prepared it correctly. Love this and will make it again, for sure!

Rolled Flank Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2010
Seriously, YOU HAVE GOT TO TRY THIS! I scored some serious mother-in-law points with this one. The only reason I only gave it four stars is because I would forgo the red peppers. Next time I will try it with blue cheese and make sure I wrap it more tightly - mine sort of fell apart, but still tasted uh-mazing! Well done.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2010
I hate to say this, but our family of five did NOT like this at all. (Actually, my husband thought it was OK - just OK) The barbecue was very soupy and had almost a sour, pungent taste. I'm very sad because I was totally geeked about just throwing frozen chicken breasts and a few ingredients in a crock pot and having BBQ chicken sandwiches for dinner. Oh, well.

Tuna Noodle Casserole from Scratch

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2010
For a family who doesn't love tuna noodle casserole, this was pretty good. Even our picky eater ate it, and that says a lot. Thank you for creating a tuna noodle casserole that doesn't include a can of "cream of something" soup. Well done.

Hearty Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
OK, OK, I couldn't bring myself to adding the dill - but it was still AMAZING! After reading the other reviews, I PROMICE that I'll add the dill next time.
