Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2012
This was amazing. I used sodium free broth, and sauteed some garlic with the vegetables and left out the garlic salt. Otherwise I didn't change anything, it was soooo good! I would recommend simmering for at least a half hour after adding the tomatoes.

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2011
I made this recipe exactly as written except I added garlic to the vegetables I sauteed, only used chicken broth, and cooked the chicken in the broth. It was AMAZING!!!! Thank you so much for posting, it is a recipe I will always use!

Sausage Cabbage Bake

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2011
This is so freaking delicious! I use either chicken sausage and brown rice to keep it a little healthier. I add double the amount of tomatoes (usually crushed tomatoes with basil and garlic) but that is it! I've realized that if you add the cabbage when you are at the end of sauteeing the sausage you won't have to cook in the oven as long- just a tip if you are in a rush! Love love love this recipe!

Best Formula Three-Cheese Fondue

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
I thought this was pretty delicious. I used a dry sauvignon blanc and the only real 'adjustment' I made was to rub garlic on the fondue pot and cook it in the cheeses. It came out great, and was my first time making a 'from scratch' fondue. A keeper!

Creamy Potato Leek Soup II

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
So. Easy. Its. Ridiculous! It took like a half hour to make this recipe. I followed suggestions and made the following alterations: Used 2 leeks instead of 3. Used low sodium chicken broth. Used a half a pound of bacon. Added garlic to leeks while they were frying. Used 1% milk instead of cream. It was soooo delicious, everyone loved it and I actually can't wait to make another batch!

Black Magic Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2009
Really freaking delicious. I made it for a get together with neighbors- I baked the cake in a several little ramekins and the topped with satiny chocolate glaze as suggested by another reviewer- then I garnished with strawberries. Soooooo tasty, looked good and extremely easy!!!

Italian Confetti Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2009
I did not have the rotini pasta, so I used regular whole wheat elbows. That was the only adjustment. I doubted the red wine vinegar but it tasted very good. The family loved it!!!

Mussels Marinara di Amore

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2009
My parents are from Italy and used to make this all the time when I was little. I couldn't get in touch with them to confirm how to make this, so I used this recipe and it was AWESOME, perfect mostly because the spicing instructions were perfect, and advised just enough 'heat' with the red pepper to make it tasty. We added shrimp and scallops and it was delicious. A definite keeper!!!

Home-Fried Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2009
This is a decent recipe, and the flavor is all there. I didn't have a green pepper so I used a red one- and it was still delicious! I would just caution that the potatoes might need a little more than 10 minutes of pan cooking to be well done and even a little pan-crunchy on the edges. I really liked this recipe!

Italian Sausage with Farfalle and Broccoli Rabe

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
I have made this a bunch of times, and its good everytime but i always change it up a bit. I ALWAYS add more broccoli rabe than the recipe calls for because I love it, but then I add a little more broth so that the sauce is still present. I usually use less cheese and instead serve cheese on the side. SOO good!

Quick Chicken Stew

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2008
I can't really say anything bad about this recipe. It was really tasty and super healthy. It was also extremely easy!!! I didn't have diced tomatoes so I just used plum tomatoes that I chopped up myself. Yummm!

Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2008
REALLY good recipe. I have never made stuffed cabbage before. I used ground turkey instead of beef and it was still really good. I also followed the hint to put the cabbage in the microwave for two minutes to take the leaves off, and they did indeed come off in tact. I added a little garlic to the soup and also used two instead of one can. Next time I might try crushed tomatoes. All in all, DELICIOUS! We loved it in my house!

Turkey Bolognese Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2008
I was very skeptical of this recipe, but it came out really good! I left out the jalepenos and the tomato paste because i didn't have any on hand. I used light cream instead of milk and added an additional clove of garlic and wine, plus some red pepper flakes. It was quite good especially for it being turkey!

Steak and Mushroom Florentine

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
This was okay... I didn't LOVE the taste but it wasn't bad. I used a good sirloin with it but it just didn't taste like I thought it should... I'd try it again and probably use garlic mushroom soup to enhance the flavor.

Zucchini Herb Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2006
Okay, I only messed with this recipe because I did not have the necessary ingredients on hand. I used a cup and ahalf of macaroni because I didn't have rice, and I used romano cheese mixed in with the cheddar because I thought that would be tasty. It was! Great recipe, a definite repeater.

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2005
This is the best recipe I have ever found for Chicken Marsala. The ONLY thing I add is a 2 tsps of browning sauce. It just makes the sauce a little thicker and gives it a little kick!

Spicy Italian Pork Cutlets

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2005
This is an excellent recipe for those wanting something healthy, tasty and quick. I didn't have a fresh tomato so I used a small can of plum tomatoes and also added a teensy bit extra wine. It was really delicious, I will definitely make it again!
