About this Cook
I am 17 years old and have been cooking/baking ever since I was young. I bake quite often and know which recipes are up to par. I am currently finishing my last year in high school and will be attending Univeristy in the fall of next year.
My favorite things to cook
I don't cook that often, although when I do I enjoy making healthy meals including chicken or ham wraps, rice and chicken dishes, casseroles, chicken loaf, egg salad, greek salads etc. My favorite things to bake are banana bread/cake, muffins, cookies, rice pudding
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making the best recipes for gingerbread and shortbread each christmas!
My cooking triumphs
I have been successful at finding the best recipes! This site has helped me find the ultimate recipes and my Oma's recipes helped as well
My cooking tragedies
I accidentally put 4 tsps. of baking soda instead of baking powder into cornmeal muffins! I was 11 at the time though... :) My mom and I ending up tossing them...It was funny though!

Aunt Blanche's Blueberry Muffins
Choose this recipe!!! :) Trust me there is no better recipe out there then this! With a few changes to increase their healthy nature they are amazing! The first time I made these muffins I followed the recipe to a T, although after making it the third time I felt that they were becoming to sweet tasting, and I found they were a bit high in cals. So to make them into healthy blueberry muffins I substituted 1/4 of the butter with unsweetened applesauce, added wheat flour instead of the white (which is bad for the body), and I cut down on the sugar to 1 cup and less two tbsp. and added 1 tsp. of vanilla and it turned out great!!! Based on my backround in nutirtion I advise these substitutes!! anyway, its overall the best recipe in the world.....I have tried all the others on this site but this is "#1" :)*****(*)
