Irish Cream Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2013
I followed the recipe exactly as written. I found the cake to be light and moist with just the right hint of the Irish Cream. I would certainly make this recipe again. Our dinner guests loved it as did my husband's fellow teachers when he brought in the leftovers (had to get the temptation out of the house).

Roasted New Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2013
Love these as does my husband. I followed the recipe as written. It was so simple and produced a potato that was a nice accompaniment to a roast that I had baked. Easy side dish for a weekday night.

I thought these potatoes were okay but my husband loved them --- hence the 4 stars.

Garlic Green Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2013
Really liked these beans but then I'm a big fan of garlic and this recipe had plenty. When I make these beans again, I will use a little less butter and olive oil. As the recipe is presently written, the finished product is a bit greasy.

Slow Cooker Texas Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2013
Followed the recipe exactly as written. It was easy to put together and the meat was very tender. Just needed some extra barbecue sauce put on the finished sandwich product.

Slow Cooker Pork Cacciatore

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2013
For years I've done a pork cacciatore in the oven that comes out tender and moist each time. However, I thought I would try this slow cooker version due to the convenience of using the crock pot. I followed the recipe as written except for the mushrooms (neither my husband nor I are mushroom lovers). I was disappointed. I found the meat dry and the sauce a bit watery. I'll be sticking to my oven version.

Corned Beef and Cabbage

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2012
I followed the recipe exactly except I made sure the meat was completely covered by water and I cooked it for 10 hours. The meat was very good and tender. However, I agree with another reviewer that I didn't care for the taste that the vinegar gave to the vegetables. Also after 10 hours of cooking, the vegetables (carrots and potatoes) were undercooked. If I make this again, I will do the vegetables separately.

Pineapple Grilled Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2011
I have the worse luck with pork chops. They always turn out dry but.......not these. Followed the recipe as written and the pork chops turned out so tender. Will do these again and soon!

Turtle Cake I

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2011
I won't be making this cake again any time soon. I thought it was much too sweet. However, the group I was with absolutely loved it.

Baked Spaghetti I

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2011
My husband who is not a pasta fan and does not like recipes with alot of cheese, really liked this dish (surprise). I followed the recipe exactly as printed except I left out the mushrooms (don't like them). Will certainly make this recipe again....and soon.

Five-Minute Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2011
It was very easy and quick to make but...I much prefer a traditional 2 crusts blueberry pie. This one was just too sweet with the graham cracker crust. I do think, however, cooking the blueberries as directed and then using them as a topping for vanilla ice cream would be delicious! Will be trying that in the near future.

Three-Step Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2011
This salad is so-o-o good and very easy to put together. The nuts add a wonderful crunch to it. Didn't change a thing except that I did make the dressing ahead of time and chilled it for a couple of hours.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2011
This recipe was wonderful!!! I adjusted the serving size to feed 4 instead of 8. I also used 2 cans of cream of chicken soup instead of the 1 that it called for. I used a can of chicken broth and a can of water instead of just water to cover the chicken with. I cooked on low for 8 hours. I then rolled out my biscuits and cut them in strips with a pizza cutter. I placed them in the slow cooker and turned the temperature up to high and cooked for an additional hour. This dish will become a regular in our housewhole.

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2011
My husband really liked this dish -- would have given it 4 stars. However, I just felt it was average. To me it was salty. I did substitute Cream of Mushroom soup for the Cream of Chicken. Make again?? Probably not -- too many other recipes out there that are much better.

Slow Cooker Apple Crisp

Too sweet. My husband really liked it but I felt it was too sweet -- even when topped with ice cream. I have many other cobbler recipes that are much better than this one.

Six Can Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
Great recipe for a cold night! I followed the recommendations of other reviewers and substituted 1 can of cream of chicken soup for 1 can of chicken broth (use Swanson's broth). I also drained and rinsed the black beans and used a rotisserie chicken instead of can chicken. I added a little chili pepper and garlic powder. Topped it all with shredded cheddar cheese and tortilla chips -- delicious!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2011
Delicious! My husband dug in for 2 BIG helpings of this dish -- that's how I knew it rated 5 stars. I took some other reviewers' advice and doubled the sauce recipe -- I ended up with way too much. Used half of what I had made and that was more than enough. Will definitely make this recipe again...and soon.

Wonton Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2010
This was a wonderful recipe. I followed it exactly except that I added some chopped carrots to the chicken stock. I did boil the wontons in water before adding them to the stock. My husband who seldom eats leftovers took the leftover soup to work the following day and said it was just as good as it was the night before.
