I am very happily married and we share our home currently with 2 dogs, 2 cats and 2 turtles. Since we live in cottage country we have many guests throughout the summer however once the snow flies our children and friends are not as brave travelling the 3 hours North to visit us. This is the season we renovate and change things around in the house.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are German/Austrian cuisine. Anything else that spells "comfort" food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Some of our family favorites are, goulash and spatzle, plum dumplings, ribs and sweet potatoes and salmon dishes
My cooking triumphs
I think one of my triumphs was making enough ribs to feed 40 people and having them turn out just right.
My cooking tragedies
When I was a newlywed (many years ago) I prepared a lovely roast beef dinner with a homemade banana cream pie for dessert. While I served the meal to our guests I placed the banana cream pie on the still warm stove top. When it came time to serve the pie the custard had turned to soup and slopped all over the plate.
