About this Cook
I have been a childcare provider for 5 years, which allows me the time to prepare demanding meals. I like to bake 3-4 times a week to provide snacks for the kids and my family. I'm always willing to try new recipes, but often just "wing-it" in the kitchen and most often the meal gets added to the "to be repeated" file.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking, but also prefer to make meals with beef, chicken, pork or turkey. I am a "carb-freak", so most my meals involve pasta, rice or bread. But I always try to balance meals and add lots of vegetables to keep them healthy.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My most traditional meal is my chili recipe. It's a MUST for Halloween night and our annual SuperBowl Party now. Since I'm an American living in Canada, we get two Thanksgiving dinners (yippee!), but otherwise, we stick with the standard holiday meals. We also host exchange students, so I love to learn how they cook in their home countries.
My cooking triumphs
My spaghetti and chili recipes have evolved into two of my most famous meals. I have friends who demand these meals whenever they come for dinner now!

Barbequed Steelhead Trout
I have used this recipe many, many times - LOVE it! The trout is so juicy and moist. I haven't changed a thing - it's perfect exactly as written. YUMMY!!

Double Chocolate Cherry Muffins

Egg Foo Yung II
Excellent!! Just like Mom used to make except the sauce was waaaaay better (Mom just used brown gravy with soy sauce)! Very quick and tasty. I made a double batch of sauce to use on the rice we served on the side - love it, love it, love it!
