When I lived in Georgia we always called the evening meal Supper, and the noon meal was Dinner. Since I have moved to Texas it is Lunch at noon and Dinner is for Supper.  But no matter what they call it on Sunday's evryone gather's at my home for Sunday Supper.  The food is just a sidebar to all the great fun it is to have all the kids in one place together. We welcome friends in from all over and they feel like part of the family. This Sunday I will cook, by request, the Texican Lasagne.   We will have guest from Canada and wanted to give them a texas Southern dish to remember their visit to the Worthington Sunday Supper.

I love Sunday Suppers! We don't have them every Sunday, but when we do it is always a great time! I hope your Canadian friends enjoy your meal.

Sunday suppers in our house when I was a kid, were the leftovers from Sunday dinner, plus everything else pulled out of the fridge - all kinds of condiments and go-alongs, reheated leftovers, a salad or slaw, and no need worry about dessert, my mother was a bake-a-cake every other day person. Now that my family has grown, I seldom do a Sunday dinner roast, but did a pot roast complete dinner, including strawberry shortcake for myself today. Plenty of fixins for a delicious Sunday supper!

My Mom cooked every night, but Sundays were the big meal. No matter what we had going on during the week as kids, we were always together on Sunday nights. It is one of my favorite memories as a kid and a wonderful memory of my Mom who has since passed. Thanks for the lovely reminder Dottie! And I hope your friends enjoy their authentic teximexitalian meal! :). -Lara

I always wonder how my mom and grandma always managed to have a Sunday Dinner (Ours was always at 2:30). I couldn't get everyone in the same room were I to keel over from a heart attack.
